I am Yakumbur Donald Terseer, a Data Analyst by training and currently the Data Analyst for
Global Village Healthcare Initiative for Africa (GHIV Africa). I’m writing to express my interest
in the position of MIS Coordinator in your organization.
I have successfully managed the data of 18,000 clients in 451 households for 5 years on the
orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) iCARE project implemented by APIN Public Health
Initiative funded by Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Atlanta, USA for HIV case management.
Currently I am managing the database of the Global Village Healthcare Initiative for Africa
(GHIV Africa) funded by the Nigerian Humanitarian Fund (NHF) project.
Over the years, I have developed strong skills in data analysis using different tools and databases.
I am skilled in Python programming for data analysis. I develop Google Sheets and Kobo
Toolbox for data collection. Power query and Data Analysis Expression (DAX) for data
cleaning; Power BI for dashboards, data modeling, visualization and geographical information
systems (GIS); also, I employ the structured query language (SQL) - SQLite for accessing
databases. From time to time, I conduct capacity building trainings on the above skills for my
team members.
On the OVC project where I was the M&E officer for the community-based organization (CBO)
WOCHAD Initiative, the Hospital Information Management System (HMIS) used for electronic
data collection and analysis was the National OVC Management Information System (NOMIS).
I had a great and professional experience working on NOMIS in synergy with Data for
Accountability, Transparency and Impact (DATIM) - database.
My team ended a 5-year project and defended the data to the CDC emerging the highest in
ranking throughout the state.

● I designed and lead Needs Assessment/research for data collection to identify gaps which will inform thematic
areas of project implementation
● I led M&E team in developing weekly work plan and monthly review meetings to ensure that project is executed
according to the logframe and donor guidelines
● I led teams in defending/reviewing the level of implementation during visits of funding partners
● I contributed in developing the logical framework for the EOI to APIN Public Health Initiative requesting for
funding for the next project cycle
● I have successfully worked on data of 18,000 people for a project of 5 years
● I successfully defended 18,000 to Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Atlanta, USA through sampling
● I was able to go through 5517 folders of both caregivers and vulnerable children in 451 households
and develop an effective filing system for 60 volunteers in 9 communities.
● I visit health facilities to receive new cases of HIV/AIDS for tracing and enrolment for intervention.
● I receive enrolled cases from the community volunteers, check on the APIN M&E cascade and NOMIS
to avoid double capture and subsequently enroll on the cascade and NOMIS.
● I carry out daily checks of data collected and services offered on NOMIS and household folders to ensure
completeness, concurrency and reliability of data. Also, I update services and data on NOMIS and
cascade daily.
● I pull information from the cascade, NOMIS and Data for Accountability, Transparency, and Impact (DATIM)
to prepare reports.
