Gender issue in the Philippines

 Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment, throughout my perception, is a very common gender problem or issue in our
community. Why? Because when we think of sexual harassment, we automatically think of a guy
harassing a female, but what if a female did it? So now what I'm thinking about here is unfair or unequal
treatment towards the man, which is we're saying they're the ones who did it, but what if it's not? Not
only should males be engaged in harassment, yet neither should females.

 Solution and suggestion:

So, as a solution, I would suggest respect. As previously stated, respect is the basis and framework for all
individuals. Respect humanity, not gender, I would say. Because gender gives life, but humanity gives
that life purpose, empowerment for both men and women is crucial.

A problem faced by the LGBTQ community

 Bathroom access

Bathroom access is one of the problems faced by the LGBTQ community. Because Transgender people
are no exception. Access to public restrooms based on gender identity, on the other hand, has sparked
controversy to the point where transgender people face embarrassment and even expulsion from these
facilities. In this case, the transgender population's physical and mental health suffers as a result of their
inability to use public restrooms.

 Solutions or suggestions as the what the government should do to address these issues and
problems.

It is not an issue where you enter, in my opinion, as long as you know how to respect others.
Considering that it is an issue and a problem, I believe we should persuade the government to establish
separate public bathrooms for the LGBTQ community. Because I believe that this is the best way to
make everyone feel safe. For example, when an LGBTQ member enters a male restroom, the men are
uncomfortable, and the same is true for women. And when they aren't at ease, the LGBTQ members
aren't either. As such, in this particular instance, they will not join or the man or woman will not leave.
So, as a solution, if you feel threatened, the government should create a secure place for everyone; it is
the government's responsibility to provide a safe place for everyone.
