This Memorandum of Understanding entered into this_____ day of ________in the City of
_________by and between:

The LAGUNA STATE POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY a state university vested with powers,
special functions or jurisdiction, endowed expressly by Republic Act No. 8292 and Republic Act No.
9402 through its SAN PABLO CITY CAMPUS with principal address located at Brgy. Del
Remedio, San Pablo City, Laguna Philippines, represented in this act by its University President,
HON. DR. MARIO R. BRIONES, and herein referred to as the “LSPU”.

The INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS, a non-


profit organization established on May 2009 and an international association recognized by The
Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Thailand, with a principal address at 12 Bang Phut Sub-
district, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi 11120, Thailand, herein represented by its Chairman, ASSOC
PROF. SRI DR. JEWELSON M. SANTOS, here in after referred to as the “IAPES”

WITNESSETH:

WHEREAS, the parties hereby agree to pursue and engage in academic cooperation through
webinars/seminars, trainings, workshops and collaborative research projects in order to achieve high-
quality physical education and sports program. Likewise, in the interest of educational cooperation
and in the spirit of making significant consideration for the national, international and intercultural
education of stakeholders, the LSPU and IAPES have agreed, as they hereby agree, to form and
develop professional, environmental and educational collaborative understanding.

WHEREAS, the parties acknowledge that such understanding will bring not only
professional members of their respective institutions, but also the students and the people they serve
closer together in their pursuit of educational ideals and advocacies.
NOW THEREFORE, for in consideration of the foregoing premises, the PARTIES hereby
agree to the following terms and conditions:

(1) PURPOSE OF THE MOU:

a) To establish and sustain physical education and sports through support for high-quality
learning and teaching, research, ethical leadership and informed advocacy and representation;

b) To conduct webinars/seminars, training and workshops that shall empower and inspire the
next generation of leaders to improve the lives of professionals and act as stewards of the best
practices in physical education and the sports industry as a whole;

c) To conduct collaborative research projects; and

d) To promote any other academic cooperation as mutually agreed.

(2) The terms of such cooperation shall be discussed and agreed upon in writing by the respective
competent authority of each institution prior to the initiation of any particular program of activity.
Specific projects/activities initiated by the parties shall be administered and entered into under
separate project documents, and/or written agreements, duly signed by the parties involved.

(3) Both institutions acknowledge that the conduct of webinars/seminars, trainings, workshops and
collaborative research projects shall be subject to the regulations and policies of IAPES and LSPU.

(4) Both institutions agree that each side will do its utmost effort to make the needed human (i.e.
speakers, participants) and non-human resources (i.e. zoom, google meet links) for the conduct of
webinars be available.

(5) Confidentiality. Both parties acknowledge that confidential information may be acquired during
the existence of this Understanding. Thus, neither party shall, without the written consent of the other,
disclose any nor all parts of the confidential information acquired by the parties, unless such persons
are required to have knowledge to such confidential information for the parties to achieve their mutual
purposes in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

(7) The LSPU and IAPES shall assist one another to carry forward joint research, extension and
community outreach collaboration.

(8) The LSPU and IAPES shall enter into an agreement creating a program of exchange of their
respective members for instructional research, extension, and environmental purposes. The agreement
covers all disciplines offered by the respective institutions.

(6) This MoU shall take effect when signed by both and will remain in effect for an initial period of
five (5) years. After five years, both institutions agree to evaluate this MoU for future cooperation.
Both institutions acknowledge that this MoU is subject to revision without cause at any time by
mutual consent or by three (3) months' written notice by either party.

place first above-written.
