ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

(I.) Entries must be from architecture professional degree Programs located in a country member of the East
Africaregion and whose local professional body is a member of the East Africa Institute of Architects

(ii.) Entries must be final year architectural projects (Final year project meaning the last year of the
program)

(iii.) Entries must be projects started and completed between July 2023 and July 2024

(iv.) Entries must be projects of fully enrolled full-time students in the programs of study.

(v.) Entries in category 1; East Africa Best Final Year Project cannot compete in other categories

(vi.) Entries in category 2; must be projects other than the last year of study in the department of architecture. (vii.)
Entries incategory 3; must be projects from the first graduating class of the emerging program or school.

(viii.) All entries must be submitted on-line

(ix.) All entries must be submitted before the deadline

(x.) Entries can come from individuals or groups. Entries from groups of students must indicate clearly the members
of thegroup and their contribution to the project. Only one (1) entry is allowed for an individual and/or group.

(xi.) Submissions Requirements and Format:


1. Submission Form fully filled.
2. Four (4) digital boards JEPG or PDF format.
3. A digital recording video explaining and presenting the project. The maximum length of the video must be 10
minutes. Thevideos must be submitted under WMV, MPEG, AVI, KLV or FLV format.
4. The combined size of entries not to exceed 25MB
5. Entries must be sent once, in one (1) e-mail with all attachments. Entries sent multiple times will be discarded.
DISQUALIFICATION CRITERIA
(i.) Any sort of plagiarism including but not limited to the use of other’s work, improper credit or citation and
lack of references will automatically lead to disqualification of the entry.
(ii.) All late submissions will be rejected and disqualified from the competition.
(iii.) Entries not meeting eligibility and entry requirements will be disqualified and not adjudicated.
(iv.) All entries whose applicant or member of the group applying violates the rules and regulations of the
competitions willbe disqualified from the competition.
EVALUTION CRITERIA
Generally, the evaluation is based but not limited on the legibility of presentations and clarity of the project
description on the following criteria:
Site documentation, concept development, contextualization, environmental sensitivity, design economy,
presentation, construction technology and services and innovation.
