Invitation Notice for the China International College Students’

Innovation Competition 2024

Dear Esteemed Higher Education Institutions:

The China International College Students’ Innovation Competition) is


dedicated to cultivating young talents who dare to innovate and create. It aims
to build a world-renowned brand for international youth exchange and
cooperation in the new era, and is currently the largest global innovation and
entrepreneurship event.

In order to establish a bridge for international youth exchange, the International


Transnational Education Association, in collaboration with Changzhou
Vocational Institute of Engineering, sincerely invites outstanding young
innovators and entrepreneurs worldwide to actively participate in the China
International College Students’ Innovation Competition 2024. Let us together
realize our dreams of innovation and entrepreneurship and collaboratively
create a brighter future for the world.

1. Entry Requirements
a. The participating projects should closely align with societal needs,
fostering new products, business formats, and models to promote the
transformation and upgrading of industries such as manufacturing,
agriculture, healthcare, energy, environmental protection, and strategic
emerging industries. Additionally, they should facilitate the deep
integration of digital technology with sectors such as education,
healthcare, transportation, finance, consumer lifestyles, and cultural
communication.
b. Participating projects should promote positive energy, and must be
truthful, healthy, and legal, without containing any content that violates
laws and regulations. The inventions, creations, patented technologies,
and resources involved in the projects must possess clear and legal
intellectual property rights or property rights. Any acts of plagiarism,
unauthorized use of others' achievements, or provision of false materials
will result in immediate disqualification from the competition, forfeiture
of any awards received, and the participants will bear all legal
responsibilities.
c. Entrants must choose the proper category for submitting their projects.
The participating teams must truthfully fill out and submit entry
materials in the registration system in a timely manner. Projects that
have won the Gold or Silver Awards in previous sessions of this
Competition are not eligible for submission.
d. Participants must be under the age of 35 (born after March 1, 1989).

2. How to participate
The competition registration is conducted on a team basis. All entrants shall
join teams of 2 to 15 members (team leader included). A team may be
formed by members from more than one college/university. All team
members must
be actual core members of the project, with a recommended team size of 3-5
people.
a. Entrants shall be students who are currently enrolled at a foreign
college/university or those who have graduated within the past 5 years
(graduates from 2019 onwards, as mentioned below). The application
shall be submitted by the team leader. A team shall represent only one
foreign college/university where the team leader is currently enrolled or
has graduated from. In this case, foreign college/university refers to a
higher education institution or vocational school that is located outside
of the People’s Republic of China and is qualified to provide tertiary
education and award degrees. A student enrolled at a foreign
college/university refers to a student who has registered and studied at a
foreign college/university and is qualified to receive a degree or diploma.
b. All submissions will be classified into one of the following two
categories depending on entrants’ academic status: Undergraduate or
Postgraduate. The submissions will be further classified into three sub-
categories based on the projects’ business start-up stage: Creativity,
Emerging Projects, and Rising Projects. All participating
colleges/universities shall instruct entrants to correctly fill out the
application and register in the appropriate category.

3. Participating Groups
a. Creativity: Participating projects in this category should possess strong
creativity and a relatively well-developed prototype of the product or
service model. They should not have completed various registrations,
including business registration, by April 8, 2024. The applicant for the
competition must be the project leader, and both the project leader and
members must be current students.
b. Emerging Project: Participating projects in this category should have
business registration and other registrations not exceeding 3 years
(registered on or after March 1, 2021). The applicant for the competition
must be the legal representative of the enterprise and must be a current
student or a student who graduated within the last five years. Team
members must hold a minimum of 51% of the shares, and the project
leader must hold a minimum of 33% of the shares.
c. Rising Project: Participating projects in this category should have
business registration and other registrations exceeding 3 years
(registered before March 1, 2021). The applicant for the competition
must be the legal representative of the enterprise and must be a current
student or a student who graduated within the last five years. Team
members must hold a minimum of 51% of the shares, and the project
leader must hold a minimum of 33% of the shares.

4. Competition Rules
International participating projects will undergo joint evaluation and be
categorized alongside mainland China's higher education main track projects,
as well as projects from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The evaluation
process, including the submission of registration materials, online review, and
on-site competition, will be organized centrally by the competition organizing
committee.
a. Registration Deadline (March 20, 2024): The team leader fills in the
Google Form provided by the organizer.
b. Submission of Proposal (March 20, 2024 - March 31, 2024):
Participating projects must provide a business plan in PPT format and
have the option to choose whether to submit a business plan in Word
format or a 1-minute video as supplementary material (all materials
should generally be in Chinese or English). Additionally, for
qualification verification, all participants must submit proof of
enrollment and academic qualifications, shareholding certificates
(Emerging Project, Rising Project), etc. All competition materials and
supporting documents must be sent to the inviting party's email
(international@eduicccm.net) by April 15, 2024.
c. Preliminary Round (April 15, 2024 - April 30, 2024): International
Transnational Education Association, in collaboration with Changzhou
Vocational Institute of Engineering, will conduct the preliminary round
of the online roadshow in the form of a defense presentation. This round
aims to select outstanding projects for recommendation to participate in
the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition 2024.
d. Online Registration (May 2024 - August 2024): Projects that pass the
preliminary round should, within the specified timeframe, log in to the
official website of the Promotion Association for Global Youth
Innovation Leaders Community (PILC) to register and submit
competition materials. (Website: https://www.pilcchina.org/)
e. Finals (September 2024 - November 2024): After participants submit
their competition works online, there will be multiple rounds of online
reviews, with the final round being the overall finals review. Winning
projects from the finals review will participate in the on-site competition
of the final round. The organizing committee will provide international
travel expenses (round trip, economy class) and local accommodation,
meals, and transportation for 1-2 members of each team participating in
the on-site finals. If unable to attend the on-site competition, the finals'
defense review will be conducted through an online roadshow format.

5. Awards
a. Among the international participating projects, a total of 500 projects
qualify for the overall finals review. From this pool, 150 projects are
selected to participate in the on-site finals competition. Out of these, 50
projects will be awarded the Gold Prize, and the remaining 100 projects
will receive the Silver Prize. The remaining 350 projects that undergo
the overall finals review but do not qualify for the on-site finals will be
awarded the Bronze Prize.
b. The award-winning projects will receive certificates from the
competition organizing committee. International participating projects
advancing to the championship playoff can receive corresponding cash
rewards based on their competition performance.
