A. SPEECH
1. PARTICIPANTS
a) This competition is open for public from 14-25 years old.
b) The committee of UKMB Competition will not provide a refund for any reason;
c) The participants should register to this link

3. SCORING ASPECTS
a) Script Components:
• Structure (1-10) (10%);
• Achievement of Purpose (1-10) (10%);
• Relevancy (1-10) (10%);
• Originality and Creativity (1-10) (10%);
• Grammar and Diction (1-10) (10%)
b) Performance Components:
• Fluency (1-10) (10%);

• Gesture and Confidence (1-10) (10%);

• Articulation (1-10) (10%);
• Eye Contact (1-10) (10%);
• Expression and Intonation (1-10) (10%).
4. TECHNICAL AND SUBMISSION
a) Participants participate individually (not in teams);
b) Participants can submit just one work; - without “for”
c) Participants must adjust and develop the material for their own performance in
the competition; plagiarism is intolerable!
d) Video must be one take in horizontal (Half-body), editing is not allowed;
e) The participants must wear formal attire.
f) Participants are not allowed to bring properties during the performance.
g) Video duration is from 5-7 minutes (there will be score deduction for less than 5
minutes or more than 7 minutes);
h) The script is written in pdf with the following format:
• Paper size: A4;
• Font type: Times New Roman 12, Space 1.5;
• Margins: 4-3-3-3 (left-right-above-below);
i) Video submission period is from Sunday, April 9 until April 20, 2022 at 23:59
WIB;
j) The speech video is submitted on the YouTube platform (do not make it
private).
k) Both video and script are named following the format:
UKMB2022_TITLE_PARTICIPANT NAME_INSTITUTION;
l) Video does not contain offensive materials (SARA);
m) The video and script must be uploaded to the google form below:

3. SCORING ASPECTS
a) Performance:
• Self-Presentation;
• Confidence;
• Attire and Neatness;
• Expression and Eye Contact.
b) Material:
• Material Control;
• Intonation;
• Tempo;
• Timing.
c) Ability in English:
• Vocabulary;
• Grammar;
• Pronunciation;
• Fluency.
4. TECHNICAL AND SUBMISSION
a) Participants complete individually (not teams);
b) Participants can submit for just one work;
c) The competition will be held in only one round that is News Reading (Including
both Formal-Such as hard news-and Nonformal-such as live report-on the
Video);
d) There are 3 (three) topics that will be the presented, each participant needs to
choose only one theme for one submission;
e) Participants are encouraged to wear a formal and appropriate attire in formal
news and adjust the attire in nonformal news;

f) The file name format both for the script and video can be seen below: Full
Name_Name of Institution/University_Script_Title For example: Leli
Anggita_Universitas Sriwijaya_Indonesia Economy under COVID-19
g) Participant must adjust and develop the material for their own performance in
the competition, plagiarism is intolerable!
h) News anchor’s script is written in pdf with the following format:
• Paper size: A4;
• Font type: Times New Roman 12, Space 1.5;
• Margins: 4-3-3-3 (left-right-above-below);
i) The video and script must be uploaded in participant’s google drive after that
send the link to committee’s email: ukmbcompetition@gmail.com
j) Please make sure that the video can be heard and seen clearly, since it will be
considered by the judges for scoring;
k) Participant are not allowed to edit their video, unless to connect the hard news
and nonformal news.
