Overview of Placement (student completes this part)

Please provide a brief overview of the placement setting and the scope of the Community Worker-in-Training’s level of
involvement, learning opportunities, and extent of responsibilities, i.e., this may draw on the placement listing information and
will help establish the context for the Community Worker-in-Training’s performance evaluation.

The placement is at the Purple Carrots Drama Studio and I am an assistant to the main facilitator and teacher. My involvement
includes helping create lesson plans, facilitating group sessions, set up and take down, assisting with the one on one needs of students
and generally helping with the creation and facilitation of the classes. When there is a student who needs help or a facilitator is absent,
I am there to assist. For the Friday afternoon class, I develop lesson plans and colloborate with the main teacher to ensure that all
student needs and accomodations are met. We work to enhance the social skills, confidence and, in the case of Purple Stage, to give
them a platform to express themselves and as Purple Stage pays the performers, a means of employment. I will be assisting with
Purple Stage. I also debrief with my fellow facilitators and assistants before and after the sessions to discuss different ways to engage
the participants. I also help with keeping attendance and communicating with family members of the participants.

Supervisor’s Overall Evaluation on Completion of each 200 Placement Hours:

What are this Community Worker-in-Training’s specific areas of strength?

Sivert has a great way of making the participants feel comfortable . He’s a great actor which really helps our final
productions and acting portions of the programs. He is great with improvisation, has a wonderful sense of humour, and
coming up with creative ideas for scene work and warm up. He also did a good job of adapting activities to be accessible
for all needs in the group and can continue to prioritize this going forward.

What are this Community Worker-in-Training’s specific areas for improvement in order to become a more effective
community worker?

He can continue to work on taking initiative within his leadership, during sessions - ex. redirecting and verbally prompting or
encouraging participants where needed. We encourage Sivert to have more of an active presence to help uplift the energy in
the group. I’d like to reiterate the importance of following deadlines, communicating with the entire team, following
instructions, and arriving on time. When we see that all aspects of the practicum are being met, then we would be happy to
consider giving more responsibilities and lead facilitation opportunities. We look forward to seeing Sivert continue to grow as
a professional.
