I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students can:
1. familiarize themselves with various art forms.
2. appreciate the different functions of art.
3. create a contemporary art form using coffee as a medium.

a. The teacher will present a series of review questions.
b. Each correct answer will complete the jigsaw art puzzle.

1. After the puzzle is completed, the teacher will ask the following questions:
a. What can you say about the image we have revealed?
b. Can you identify some of the works of art presented in the picture?
c. Do you know what type of art forms is showcased in the image?
Can you name some of them?

1. The teacher will introduce the topic/s of the day.

1. The teacher will give the students 3-5 minutes to look around their house
for an art work.
2. The students will take a picture of their chosen art work and send it
through messenger group chat.
3. The students will write a brief description of their chosen art work.

G. Generalization
1. The teacher will ask the students the following questions:
a. Do artists need to focus on a single or specific form of art to be
called an artist?
b. Do you believe that Philippine contemporary art has already
excelled in all the discussed art forms? Why yes or why not?
c. Do you think there is still a need for Filipino artists to be immersed
in certain art forms that are unpopular to us?

H. Evaluation
1. The teacher will project images of art works onto the screen, and the
students will categorize them into various art forms.

I. Assignment
1. Direction: Following the important information about art, create a painting
that uses coffee as a medium. Use Oslo paper as canvas.

Process questions:
a. What is your chosen subject of art? Explain the reason for
selecting the subject of your coffee painting.
b. How would you classify your art work?
c. How will you define art based on your work?
d. Would you consider it an artwork? Why?
e. Aside from coffee, what other medium can be used in creating
your artwork?
f. Is this particular artwork present in your community? From your
perspective, why is this medium widely used or not widely used in
your community?
