Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in English 5

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
 Distinguish various types of viewing materials
 Identify the appropriate viewing material to use in each situation
 Appreciate the importance of the different viewing materials in learning about the
Filipino culture
II. Content: Distinguish among various types of viewing materials (EN5VC-Id-6)

I. Procedures
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greetings, Prayer, checking of attendance, and reminders on things they need to
do during the class.
B. Review: Directions: Make a short role play about the picture.
1. The teacher will divide the group into six. And he will give the
pictures to each group.

C. Motivation: Directions: Arrange the jumble words to reveal the topic.


1. The teacher will divide the class into four groups.
2. The group that will finishes first will tell the topic and declare as
the winner.
D. Introduction:

Directions: Identify the viewing materials being described in each sentence. To do it correctly just
match the same numbers.

E. Lesson Proper:

Viewing materials are devices such as films, slides, models, and other forms
which include PowerPoint presentations, photographs, cinema and video films, paintings,
drawings, prints, non-prints, sculpture, and props.

F. Discussion: Directions: The students will watch an Audio – Video presentation about
different viewing materials.

Guide Questions:

1. Give some examples of viewing materials you’ve watched.


2. Identify whether the picture is print or non-print materials.

G. Developing mastery:

Direction: Read the paragraphs. Identify the viewing material being referred to.

1. Benedicto Cabrera also known as BenCab is a Filipino Contemporary Art painter who painted
“Sabel in Blue.” His works are posted in different countries, and he also built the famous BenCab
Museum in Baguio City.
2. The Father of Philippine Independent Fillm Kidlat Tahimik, is a critically acclaimed director
from Baguio City. He won many film awards internationally. One of his famous works is the
short film “Ang Balikbayan: Memories of Overdevelopment.”
3. Eduardo Masferré is a self-taught photographer. He captured the lives of indigenous people and
their daily lives. His book “The People of the Philippine Cordillera Photographs serve as a
documentation of the Igorots in the year 1934-1956.
4. “Siyam na Diwata ng Sining” was the sculpture made by the Father of Modern Sculpture
Napoleon Abueva. He made his artworks from hard wood, adobe, metal, stainless steel, cement,
marble, bronze, iron, alabaster, coral, and brass.
5. Fernando Amorsolo is often known as the “Grand Old Man of Philippine Art” and “National
Artist in Painting”. He is known for his painting of Philippine landscapes and women. One of his
famous works is the Fruit Gatherer he painted last 1950.
