We highlight important progress made last and this week toward our
project goals. We started working on our research instrument while
also rewriting our final first and second research chapters, which we
already passed on February 13. We consulted our research adviser for
advice and comments before making changes to the said chapters. We
also look for our three validators: the statistician, the content
validator, and the grammarian. Our team's emphasis on quality
assurance and pursuing the goal of excellence in our academic tasks is
reflected in these shared efforts. We continue to be committed to
improving our research output's academic quality and anything else
that we do.
Summary: In addition, this week, every member has dutifully given their 250-
peso allotment, totaling 3,000 pesos for the budget. This financial
commitment guarantees that we will have the resources needed to
carry out our project successfully. After that, we obtained 1.5 kg of
green mussel shells, cleaned them, and then spent five days carefully
drying them by using heat or sunlight. We also obtained the last
supplies, which included chemicals (like hydrochloric acid, sodium
hydroxide, and citric acid) and potato starch that were necessary for
our experiment to be completed successfully. These preparatory
actions represent our commitment to careful planning and handling of
resources, providing a solid foundation for the research steps that
follow.
Challenges: We acknowledge the challenges we faced as we carried out our
project. First, because of teachers full-handled slots, we had
challenges finding teachers to serve as validators, but we still
overcame this problem and still got teachers to be our grammarian,
content validator, and statistician. Second, the high cost of chemicals
puts a burden on our finances, requiring us to carefully plan and
prioritize our resources to guarantee the purchase of necessary
materials without sacrificing the quality of our study.
An unexpected challenge was the problem of bad odor coming from
the green mussel shells while they were being cleaned and dried. At
first, when the shells were left in an enclosed area, they produced an
unpleasant smell that made it necessary to take steps to reduce the
spread of the odor. We used tactics like increasing the effectiveness of
the cleaning process because of this challenge. And for the other days,
we were able to stop the smell from the shells, so we kept up with the
process and were reminded of where to put them. Despite these
difficulties, our group is dedicated to overcoming difficulties with
cooperation and determination to successfully accomplish the goals of
our project.
Our main priorities for the coming week will be reaching a few
important goals that are essential to the progress of our project. First
and foremost, we want to finish developing our research instruments
and make sure they are carefully designed to make it easier to gather
precise and trustworthy data. Our research paper's first and second
chapters also must be validated by our three assigned validators: the
statistician, content validator, and grammarian. Our research must go
Goals for the new week: through this thorough evaluation procedure for it to be clear and
coherent. Furthermore, we are dedicated to achieving significant
progress with our capstone product, especially the extraction of
chitosan from green mussel shells must be done. This means doing
experiments with dedication and precision to get excellent results that
support the goals of our project. By concentrating on these objectives,
we want to advance our project and get one step closer to finishing
our capstone project successfully.

Timeline from February 2 to February 15, 2024

On this day, we look for our validators, the grammarian, content
validator, and statistician. We faced difficulty in finding one since

almost all teachers are full-slotted, but we managed to overcome this
challenge.

February 5, 2024 We got the confirmation from the teachers who were willing to be our
grammarian, statistician, and content validator.
We got the resume and signature of our content validator, Ms.
Belchez.
