If you're facing issues with flower dropping in your pomegranate tree, there are several
factors you might want to consider. Flower dropping can happen due to various reasons,
such as environmental conditions, nutrient deficiencies, pests, or cultural practices. Here's a
guide to help you control flower dropping in your pomegranate tree:
1. Watering: Inconsistent watering can lead to flower dropping. Make sure your
pomegranate tree receives regular and adequate watering. Avoid overwatering or
letting the soil dry out completely.
2. Soil Health: Ensure your soil is well-draining and rich in nutrients.

You can even help too, by using a small brush and lightly
15 brushing from bloom to bloom. 1
Male pomegranate flowers fall off naturally as do un-fertilized female blooms, while
fertilized female flowers remain to become fruit. Pests – Pomegranate trees begin to
flower in May and continue through early autumn.

Related I have a pomegranate plant and bears lots of flowers for the first time but
almost fall off and bear no fruit. Why is it so? How do I fix this problem?
Flower and no fruit is due to lack of nutrition, especially potassium and other minerals.
You can add some NPK once a month in the tree, or organically, you can use banana and/or
onion peels as fertilizer. Please see how to’s on internet.
Either add these to your compost pile, if you make own compost, or prepare them and add
with vermicompost.

Related How should I trim my pomegranate tree to encourage the most fruit to
grow?
When I worked at a nursery that sold pomegranate trees, we recommended that young
plants be cut back hard every year for the first few years. That means cutting them down to
1 to 1 1/2′ tall. This caused the plant to send out many side branches.
By the time they were in 7-gallon pots, they wouldn’t need much more pruning, other than
removing crossing branches and dead wood. Last year, at the nursery, I pollinated some of
the flowers, and one 6′ tall plant developed 6 fruits!
Make sure it’s getting full sun, and don’t pamper it with too much water or fertilizer. It needs
very well-drained soil.

Related How do I stop the leaves from falling off my poinsettia?
For my Poinsettia plants, I regularly prune them for a nice bushy appearance, its ongoing if
they get leggy. I general fertilize/repot in spring and/or they go outdoors. They thrive in
relatively dry conditions and as such drop leaves to prevent further dessication… further
drying out. Under watering, but definitely over watering will also result in leaf drop. Over
watering will also rot the roots. They are admittedly finicky. I find that misting works just like
with my finicky rosemary, lavendar, and ferns when brought indoors. Humidity is good, but
there’s a really fine line when it comes to… (more)

Related How do you keep papaya flowers from dropping?
To avoid fruit drop as a result of overbearing, we recommend thinning the young fruit
before the tree drops it. In general, it is best to leave 4-6 inches between each fruit and
break up any clusters that may form. You may use small, sharp pruners to remove the fruit
or simply pluck it off with your fingers.
also give these tropical plants too little and water stress can cause fruit drop in Papaya. If
trees get too much water, you'll see your Papaya dropping fruit as well. If the growing area
is flooded, that explains why Papaya fruit is falling off. Keep the soil constantly moist but
not wet

Related How should I trim my pomegranate tree to encourage the most fruit to
grow?
The first 3/4 years, I barely gave mine any trimming. A few scrawny pomegranates.
I believe they were 1/2 year nursery stock.
Around year 4/5, I gave them an aggressive buzz/pruning.
Year 6. Full of “grocery sized" fruit, or so I observed. Darn it, I should have taken them with
me, I moved.

Related How do I stop the leaves from falling off my poinsettia?
Let the soil dry out gradually -- keep giving it a bit of water if you see the stems start to
shrivel -- and move it to a cool, dry location that has an average temperature of between 50
and 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Bring the plant back out into the sun in early or mid-spring.

Related How do I prevent a flower drop?
Maintain an even moisture level in the soil. Mulch prevents water evaporation and maintains
an equal moisture level.
When plants are deprived of essential nutrients, they become stressed.
Plant flowers and veggies where they will receive the appropriate quantity of sunshine.

Related Are you supposed to eat the seed part of a pomegranate?
If by seed you mean the fleshy juice vesicle, then that's the main edible portion.
If by seed you mean the small crunchy seed inside the juice vesicle, then there's no reason
not to. If you've somehow got a bunch of concentrated seeds, like if you made jelly and the
seeds are left in the strainer, there's no reason to eat them specially.

Related How long should it take to remove all of the seeds from a pomegranate?
I never actually remove the seeds because I feel it takes to long and is unnecessary. If you
don't want to spend time removing the seeds, what you can do is take off the top of the
pomegranate like you would on a pumpkin for Halloween. If you've never done that, just slice
through the skin only in a circle around the top. Then peel it off.
Then slice through only the skin longitudinally along the partitions that separate each
chamber. After that, stick the knife in the center and twist to open it up. Now that you have it
open like a flower, tear or cut off the petals and dig in. Takes less than… (more)

Every year when pomegranates come into season, I15begin my obsession. In fact I am about 1
to enjoy them right now. Since I eat about 3/4 of a cup a day, I eat them seeds and all. I can’t
imagine spitting out that many seeds, and the crunchiness is half the joy of eating a
pomegranate.
I have been doing this every winter for years and have had no issues because of it. I would
caution anyone who has had bowel issues to check with their doctor first, since they are a
great source of fiber.

Originally Answered: How do I pick a pomegranate with any rot inside?
I think you mean how to select one *without* rot. It can be hard to judge them, but generally
speaking, only select fruits that have unbroken skin (no splits or cracks), fruits that feel firm
to the touch, and fruits without any fruit flies coming from the end (the stamen cluster).
