The Inter Departmental Sports Meet for the year 2023-24 will commence from 4th March 2024.
The Chairpersons of all the Post Graduate Departments are requested to send the entries of students of
the respective departments to the President, P.G. Gymkhana on orbefore 23rd February 2024, before
5.00 p.m. The following events will be conducted in the said sports meet.
INDOOR GAMES
02 Chess, Carom, Table Tennis and Shuttle Badminton (Men and Women only
singles)
OUTDOOR GAMES

Men: Kabaddi, Volley Ball, Cricket.
Women: Throw Ball, Volley Ball, and Tennikoit.
IMPORTANT DATES
i. Track and Field Events : 4th March 2024
ii.Outdoor Games : 4th March 2024
iii. Indoor Games : 4th March 2024
iv. Cricket : 25th April 2024 Onwards

RULES
ENTRY FEES
i. An entry Fee of Rs. 100=00 per participant per event (Athletics, Indoor Games and
Tennikoit) shall be paid.
ii. An entry fee of Rs. 200=00 will be paid per participating team (Outdoor Games
viz. Volleyball, Throw Ball, Kabaddi, Relay except Cricket).
05 iii. For Cricket an entry fee of Rs. 500=00 will be paid per participating team.
iv. The entry fee may please be paid to the Canara Bank, Karnatak University
Campus through Canara Bank slip to the Account No. 12062200037855 in the
name President, P.G. Gymkhana and counterfoil of the same be produced at P.G.
Gymkhana Office along with entry forms.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
i. All the Chairpersons and Staff members are requested to grace the occasion and
encourage the students by your presence.
ii. Due to unavoidable circumstances, if the time and date of any event is changed,
the participants are requested to cooperate. Such a change (if any) will be
announced by evening of the respective day.
iii. Chairpersons of all the Departments and especially student’s Association
Chairperson should accompany the student participants on the specified dates.
iv. Eligibility Pro forma is herewith enclosed pertaining to students details events (M &
W) and fees for the ensuing Inter-Departmental Sports. If Need arises, Xerox of the
same may be obtained.
v. The Xerox copy of the filled in Eligibility Performa may kindly be kept with the
07 Chairperson’s of the Departments.
vi. Co-operation in this regard will be highly acknowledged.
vii. M. Phil. and regular Research Scholars of their respective Departments may also
participate in any of the events.
viii. During the Inter Department Sports meet it is requested that there shall be at least one
faculty member be present at the venue to avoid any complications arising.
ix. If there is any misconduct/ violation of rules by the students/players disciplinary
action will be initiated on such player/team as per the rules / norms of the Karnatak
University, Dharwad.
x. All the students are informed to participate actively in the Sports Meet in the true
spirit of the game.

f. Tennikoit : Singles (Women)
i. One set of 21 points
ii. Semifinals and Final will be best of 3 sets.
g. Carom: Singles (Men and Women)
i. One Board only
ii. Semifinals and Final will be best of 3 sets.
h. Chess (Men and Women)
i. One set as per rule.
i. Kabaddi (Men)
i. Till S/F: 7 min+3 min rest + 7 min
ii. S/Fs and Final will be 15 min+5min rest +15 min
The inaugural function is scheduled on 4 th March 2024 at 10.00
a.m. at Rani Channamma Stadium, Karnatak University Campus. All
09 the students including the participants are requested to take part in the Inaugural
Function. The teaching faculty is humbly requested to grace the function and
encourage the participants. Your cooperation in making the Inter Departmental
sports a grand success is highly solicited.

1) F.W.Cs, to Chairpersons of all the Departments and Wardens of all Hostels with a request to
display the contents of this notice on the Notice Board and to bring it to the notice of all the
students.
2) Personal Assistant to Honorable Vice-Chancellor, K.U. Dharwad.

4) Personal Assistant to Registrar (Evaluation), Exam section, K.U. Dharwad.
5) Director Student Welfare, K.U. Dharwad.

7) Director of Sports, Karnatak University, Dharwad.
8) Chief Medical Officer, with a kind request to arrange for a Doctor along with Ambulance
and necessary kits to face any untoward incident during the said sports meet.
