INTRODUCTION

Banana chips are dried, fried slices of bananas that have are a popular

snack in the country. They are slices of bananas that are deep fried, baked or

dehydrated to become crispy, it is then coated with sugar, honey, salt or spices. This

snack originated from Kerala, India but is very popular in the Philippines because

bananas are the fourth largest food crop in the world and the Philippines is one of the

biggest banana producers.

Banana chips could be a convenient snack on occasion. Since banana chips are light,

easy to pack, and a quick source of calories and simple carbs, they’re an excellent

option when you’re on the go, hiking, or refueling after rigorous exercise. But the

product still contains sugar and had been deep fried in oil so it contains calories and

fats so it is advised to eat in proper proportions.

This “Crispy Banana Chips” is a healthy option, the potassium and magnesium in

banana can help lower blood pressure, its magnesium can also help us develop strong

bones, unlike other Puto that being sold at markets, source of fiber, potassium, vitamin

B6, vitamin C and various antioxidant and phytonutrients.

The group’s business “Banana Craze and Thins” runs in the food industry where the

proponents produce crispy and delicious banana chips. The main ingredients for the

product are the saba and the sugar coating making it sweet and crispy. The chips are

cut thin enough to make a crispy and crunchy snack. This product is packed in a sealed

packaging to preserve its crisp and texture. It is cheap, very nutritional and produced

without any kind of preservatives but still has a long shelf life.

VISION

The company wants to provide the finest banana chips in town that is well-loved and is

cheap. The proponents aim to support local banana dealers and producers as well as

local made traditional and healthy snacks for all ages.

The purpose of a company is always to provide value to its costumer. Inspiring

employees and create sense of hardworking characters. The company manufactures

banana chips and distribute them to outlets for better and quicker service for

consumers.

once you’ve tried it you would definitely love and look for it. The proponents chose

vibrant green color combinations for this logo.

TAGLINE

“Crazy for Crispy Thins”

The tagline of the company emphasizes on the fact that the banana chips are so thin

and crispy that one would enjoy them very much. The proponents will make sure that

this is also included as a goal for the appearance of the product as it goes under the

process of production.

Executive Summary

Banana chips are traditional and well-loved snacks for all ages specially how the

Philippines is one of the world’s biggest producers of bananas. It is a crispy, sweet and

cheap snack that can satisfy the cravings. It is a good snack for all occasions and

activities. This sweet snack is made through slicing bananas into thin chips then fried

and coated with sugar.

It is a much better alternative for salted and processed snacks as it has no added

preservative and is composed by non-harmful ingredients. Banana Craze and Thins

produces a cheap and tasty banana chip product for everyone and can assure a great

quality product to its consumers. It is an excellent snack and much more affordable.

Market Research

A survey was conducted by the proponents to have a good sense of the situation in the

market of the product of banana chips named as Banana Craze and Thins in the seven

distribution outputs for the product including, Peñablanca, Cagayan; Alcala, Cagayan;

Sto. Tomas, Isabela; Kabugao, Apayao; Paracelis, Mountain Province; Tay-ac, Rosario,

La Union and places near the said locations.

Figure no. 2 shows the percentage distribution according to the age of the respondents.

5% of the respondents’ ages ranges from 12-15 yrs old, 80% are aged from 16-20 yrs

old, 9% are 21-25 of age and 6% are 26 yrs old and above.

In terms of the gender of the respondents, 34.2% of them are male and 65.8% of

them are female.

Figure no. 9 shows primary places where they buy banana chips and 62.4% says Sari-

sari stores, 17.9% answers grocery stores, 16.2% says public market(palengke), 1.7%

answers online sellers and 1.8% answers others.

The chart shows 77.8% of the respondents can consume 1-3 packs in a week, 17.9%

answers 4-6 packs and 4.3% says 7 packs above.

and let cool.

• In the other pan, create a mixture of sugar, water and caramel syrup and stir until it

becomes slightly thick.

•After the mixture slightly thickens, put the pre-fried chips in the wok and stir until

every chip has been evenly coated by the caramelized mixture. Then strain it again.

•Let it cool and let dry.

• After the coating dries, deep fry it again but do not let it over cook.

•Put the chips on oil draining trays, let it cool and wait for it to harden.

logo sticked in front of it. The pouch will be easy to open and reusable for the

clear plastic zip-lock pouch displays the perfectly fried golden-brown chip delights inside

making it more inviting for the consumers to see.

PROCESS STRATEGY

Firstly, the Saba supply will be shipped from Paracelis to Peñablanca along with all the

supplies needed. Then, the raw materials will be processed into the final product.

Delivery Process

The supplier will deliver the agreed number of kilos for bananas to

Peñablanca, Cagayan and will be processed into the final product. The supplier for

bananas will come from Paracelis, Mountain Province.

Distribution Process

To deliver the product (Crispy Banana Chips) to consumers, they will mass

produce the banana chips in Peñablanca, Cagayan and will be distributed to their

members via J&T delivery. This strategy is formulated after considering the distance

among us members and also a great way to widen our market and quicker delivery to

the consumers.

In cases the supplied bananas ripen before they were processed into the final

product, there are other options as a solution. The bananas will be sliced and will be

dehydrated by drying them under the sun. Then will be fried as chips.

Dried bananas are not new but are very traditional that only some knows about them.

Profit and Losses

The profits and losses at the partnership shall be divided to the partners according to

Term / Termination

Withdrawal / Death of Partner

In the event a partner withdraw/s or retires from the partnership for any reason,

including the death, the remaining may continue to operate the partnership using the

same name. A withdrawing partner shall be obligated to give sixty days prior written

notice of his/her intention to withdraw or retire and shall be obligated to sell his/her

interest in the partnership. No partner shall transfer the interest in the partnership to

any other party without the written consent of the remaining partners. The remaining

partner shall pay the withdrawing or retiring partner, legal representative/s of the

deceased or disabled partner, the value of his/her interest on the partnership, or (a)

sum of his capital account, (b) any unpaid loan/s due him, (c) his proportionate share

of accrued nonprofit remaining undistributed in his capital account, and (d) his interest

in any prior agreed appropriation in the value of partnership property over its book

values. No value for the goodwill shall be included in determining the value of the

partners’ interest.

Non-compete Agreement

A partner who retires or withdraws from the partnership shall not directly or indirectly

engage in a business which is or which would be competitive with the existing or then

anticipated business at the partnership for the period of ___________, in those

planning to do business.

7.4 Contract of Lease

KNOWN ALL BY MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

This CONTRACT OF LEASE is made and executed at Tuguegarao City,

WHEREAS, the LESSOR agrees to lease-out the property to the LESSEE

and the LESSEE is willing to lease the same; NOW, THEREFORE, for and in

consideration of the terms and conditions mutually agreed upon by the parties, the

LESSOR hereby lease unto the LESSEE, the above-described parcel of property subject

to the following:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Purpose: That the premise hereby leased shall be used exclusively by the LESSEE for its

purpose only and shall not diverted to other uses. It is hereby expressly agreed that if

any time the premises are used to other purposes, the LESSOR shall have a better right

to rescind the contract without the prejudice to its other rights under the law.

Term: The term of this lease shall be for the period of one (1) year to commence upon

the signing of this contract and shall be renewable for another year at the option of the

LESSEE and thereafter renewable for another year upon mutual agreement of the

parties.

Rental rate: The monthly rental rate for the leased premise shall be in

Pesos; ____________________________________ pesos (Php__________); all rental

payments shall be payable to LESSOR.

Default Payment: In case of default payment by the LESSEE in the payment on rents,

the LESSOR as its option may terminate this contract and eject the LESSEE. The

LESSOR has the right to padlock the premises when the LESSEE is in default payment

of 2 month. That the LESSOR shall pay the real property taxes levied of the leased

premises corresponding to the aforementioned parcel of land while the LESSEE shall

pay the real property taxes levied on the building and other improvement that shall be

introduced by the latter.

Force Measure: If whole or part of the leased premise shall be destroyed or damage by

fire, flood, typhoon, earthquake, storm or any other unforeseen disabling cause of acts

of nature, as to render the leased premises during the term substantially unfit for use

and occupation of the LESSEE, that this contract may be terminated without

compensation by the LESSOR or by the LESSEE by notice in writing to the other.

This CONTRACT OF LEASE shall be valid binding between the parties, their

successors-in-interest and assignee.
