A. Cannot read and write

I. PROBLEM:
Idea 1: illiterate => struggle with life/decrease nation’s economy
Explain:
recent economy – become modern and innovative: - using robot and sophisticated
machine to boost productivity, to operate, needs qualified employees
Without being educated and gaining qualifications and degree => can not meet the
demand
Result:
No education – do not have access to well-paid/rewarding job – application deny
=> become jobless/ struggle with manual jobs
Effect:
=> not enough to support them and their family => being impoverished
Idea 2: Lack of education => become unemployed
Jobless => unstable income => cannot pay for services to improve life
Explain:
=> in case of diseases – unable to purchase medical treatment and healthcare
Lack of knowledge => cannot comprehend instructions and guidance in medical
Result:
=> high danger of death with fatal/ dead-end diseases
EX:
Covid 19, overload of beds in hospital, civilians take care of themselves, being
unable to read instructions and prescriptions => cannot protect themselves =>
threaten to die
II. SOLUTION:
1.Free education: The provision of free education in schools
=> reducing the level of illiteracy in a country
Some people fail to attend school – the lack of money to pay for the fees =>
offering free education => reduce the financial burden that parents and students.
=> increase the number of people attending school
=> reduce illiteracy levels within society
=> improve society, contribute to social stability and security
2.Pay more attention and investment in education
Idea 1: -Living in Digitization- in the age of technology and information
Take advantage of hi-tech development to improve educational quality = creating
more digital platforms for reading and learning:
Ex: Digital libraries- for those who live far away from urban centers to expand
their knowledge base and become more informed
Idea 2: - need to invest more budget in upgrading the education infrastructure =
modern learning facilities and train qualified teachers paying
higher salaries for teacher and workers who work in these undeveloped areas

Exercise 1: Nowadays, there have been may people cannot read and write. What
problems does this cause? What measures can government take to solve these
problems?
Writing:

It is widely acknowledged that the issues of ignorance of education have become

one of the most heated topics nowadays when a large number of citizens are unable
to read and write. Although there will undoubtedly be some negative consequences
of this problem, government and individuals can take steps to mitigate these
potential effects
To begin with, unemployment and health negativities are two biggest detrimental
consequences. The first negative fact of being illiterate is that they might become
jobless. The fact that in recent economy, the industry is becoming more and more
modern and innovative that requires companies and organizations to apply
sophisticated and advanced machines to boost their productivity. In order to
operate their machine, there is a need for labor who are qualified and well
educated. It’s impossible to apply for a job without qualifications and degrees. As a
consequence, they may struggle with badly paid manual jobs and even become
redundant which renders them not being able to cover living expenses. Pay for
services to improve their life such as household amenities, making them live in
poverty. Additionally, a lack of knowledge makes them struggle with poor
healthcare. Being unable to read and write means not having the ability to
comprehend instructions and guidance which are important and beneficial for their
health. For example, during the Covid-19 pandemic, when hospitals were
overloaded with beds, civilians had to take care of themselves. However, if they
were unable to read instructions and prescriptions, they could not protect
themselves and threaten to die. At the same time, they do not have enough money
to pay for treatment which eventually makes them struggle with poor health and
even fatal diseases..
There are several actions that governments and individuals could take to solve the
problems which have been described above. First and foremost, individuals should
provide free education in schools by reducing the level of illiteracy in a country.
Some people fail to attend school. This is because they lack money to pay for the
fees and offering free education with poorer people can reduce the financial burden
that parents and students which not only help increase the number of people
attending school and reduce illiteracy levels within society but also improve
society, contribute to social stability and security. In addition, living in the age of
technology and information, we can take advantage of hi-tech development to
improve educational quality. This measure can be applied by creating more digital
platforms for reading and listening. For instance, digital libraries can be
particularly beneficial for those who live far away from urban centers to expand
their knowledge base and become more informed. Last but not least, government
invest more budget in upgrading the education infrastructure will also need to be
taken. To do this, the government can modern learning facilities and train qualified
teachers. This can help higher salaries for teacher and workers who work in these
undeveloped areas.
In conclusion, unemployment and health negative are the two severe impacts of
cannot read and write; and governments could free education in schools and pay
more attention and investment in education to improve the problems identified
above
B. Damaging the environment
I. PROBLEM :
Problem 1: air pollution - toxic gases from households and industry - emissions
from factories and exhaust fumes - global warming -> devastating effect
Problem 2: waste - rubbish from human activities + more people -> greater amount
-> contaminates the earth and pollutes rivers and oceans -> suffer from health
problem
II. SOLUTION :
Solution 1: introduce laws limit toxic emissions + waste; use renewable energy
Solution 2: citizens - be aware and take responsibility- public transport + reduce
using environmentally - unfriendly materials
Exercise 2: Humans are damaging the environment. What problems will this
cause for individuals and society?
What can governments and individuals do to address this problem?
Writing
It is widely acknowledged that the issues related to damaging the environment
have become one of the most heating topics nowadays. Although there will
undoubtedly be some negative consequences of this problem, government and
individuals can take steps to mitigate these potential effects.
To begin with, air pollution and waste are two biggest detrimental consequences.
The primary issues is that air pollution is a major environmental issue that has a
destructive effect on our planet. This is because air pollution is the emissions from
factories and exhaust fumes. For example, factories release harmful chemicals into
the air the air, while exhaust fumes from transport contribute to the problem. This
pollution not only affects the air we breathe but also contributes to global warming.
As a consequence, air pollution can cause respiratory including asthma,
pneumonia, increase the risk of heart disease, disease and high danger of death
with fatal. Furthermore, waste can also lead to the spread of diseases from human
activities. This is because waste can harbor harmful bacteria, viruses. Take
Vietnam, for example, people throw garbage indiscriminately in rivers and lakes
and the most popular is to throw garbage on the beach, causing many sea creatures
to die in mass. As a result, people may experience a variety of health problems,
including respiratory problems and skin diseases.
There are several actions that governments and individuals could take to solve the
problems which have been described above. First and foremost, government
should introduce laws limit toxic emissions and waste. This can be done by
promoting the use of renewable energy sources, people can reduce their carbon
footprint, which not only helps to protect the environment, but also helps to combat
climate change. For example, government encourage businesses to switch to
renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power and introducing stricter
regulations on industrial emissions and waste disposal could help to reduce
pollution and protect public health. In addition, citizens have to be aware and take
responsibility for their actions in order to reduce their impact on the environment.
This measure can be applied by using public transport instead of personal vehicles
and reducing the use environmentally unfriendly materials such as nylon. For
instance, instead of using plastic bags, people can use paper bags which can reduce
environmental pollution when shopping.
In conclusion, air pollution and waste. are the two severe impacts of damaging the
environment; and governments could introduce laws limit toxic emissions and
waste and aware and take individuals could responsibility to improve the problems
identified above
