Building Policy – Security Patrolling Policy – Time Keeping “THE PIPE System”

RE: Patrolling Policy (Security)
Attention Unit Owners, Concierge, and Building Management,
Purpose: 130 Queens Quay East established a security policy with
respect to patrolling. Security personal are required to perform patrols
of the property, make observations on the movement of visitors who
have ill intent, monitor the large amount of access points to the property,
and identify issues with the mechanical conditions of the building
systems.
Process & Procedure: Prior and after performing a site walk do the following:
Prior & During Site Walk:
1. Review nearby cameras of areas to be visited for any activity prior to site walks. Look for forced
open doors, mechanical issues such as water leaks, property damage and movement of people
2. Review your route and check points as per provided reference sheet, also gather all required keys
for the patrol
3. Collect the patrol “PIPE” and start your patrol by selecting the appropriate shift check point at the
security desk
4. Start making critical observations while performing your site walk and take notes. The intention of
this patrol is to identify incidents associated with ill intent, fire life safety, and mechanical issues etc.
5. Use the time Keeping Device to select all visited locations as per provided reference manual
6. If HIGH-RISK & HIGH-IMPACT INCIDENT event is encountered call for backup
After Site Walk:
1. Return the time keeping device to desired location
2. Download high risk video surveillance footage from your observations if applicable
3. Open an incident report if applicable at www.130qqeast.com
4. Contact Head of Security, and Operations if a HIGH-RISK & HIGH-IMPACT INCIDENT was
encountered
5. Contact mobile patrol or emergency services if immediate help is required to investigate and de-
escalate the incident
This policy may be revised from time to time, to improve building operations.
