The Chosen Family:


There's a saying about college – you find your "chosen family" there. In my
case, this saying couldn't be truer. It wasn't just the friendships that
blossomed, but the incredible bond I formed with my seniors
Joining Jai Hind College later than others meant navigating unfamiliar territory.
Making friends felt like an uphill battle. But then, my seniors stepped in,
becoming my champions. From the simple act of paying for my food, a kind
gesture that acknowledged my newbie status, to offering a patient ear for my
anxieties, they were there for it all.
The time and patience they invested in me went beyond textbooks and lectures.
They taught me the art of navigating the college ecosystem, from the unspoken
social codes to the intricate dance of "seniority." More importantly, they

showed me the power of networking, how genuine connections could pave the
path for a fulfilling future.
Our diverse backgrounds fostered an environment of understanding and
support. When life threw curveballs, their motivational stories – funny,
relatable, and sprinkled with wisdom, became my secret weapon. They weren't
just tales of success, but honest accounts of struggles overcome, lessons
learned, and laughter shared.
Now, as I stand here brimming with pride for their well-deserved achievements,
I'm filled with a bittersweet pang. Saying goodbye is tough, but the lessons
they've imparted will forever stay with me. They've shown me the power of
helping hands, the importance of building bridges, and the strength that comes
