Express the answer in lowest term, if needed

Addition & Subtraction of Dissimilar Fraction

Remember:
to add/subtract dissimilar fraction, express them as similar
fraction first then add/subtract the fraction. Express the answer
in lowest term if possible.
Addition & subtract of mixed numbers

Multiplication of fraction and mixed numbers

Remember:
To multiply mixed number to fraction, express mixed number as improper
fraction. Then, multiply fraction, express the answer in lowest term.

To multiply mixed number, express them as improper fraction then,

multiply the fraction Always express the answer in lowest term.

To multiply mixed number by whole number express the whole number

and mixed number as improper fraction then multiply the fraction. Reduce
the answer in lowest term.

Division of fraction and mixed number of fraction

Place value of decimals

Fractions and decimals

Fractions and decimals

Remember:

To change the fraction to decimal, divide the numerato by its denominator

To change decimal to fraction, count the number of digits after the decimal
point. The number of digit with tell the power of 10 to be used as denominator ,
simplifiy the graction if needed

Another way of converting fraction to decimal to fraction is by doing the

following, find a number you can multiply by the denaminator to make it 10 or
100, multiply both the numerator putting the decimal point on the left side of
the numerator depending upon the number of 0 on the denominator.

Repeating decimals

Remember:
to change fraction to decimal, divide the numerator to the denamintor, if a
remainder zero cannot be obtained, the quotient is called non-terminating or
repiting decimals

A repiting decimal can be expressed using bar notation

Comparing and Ordering Decimals

Remember:
To compare decimal numbers, line up the decimal points and digis in their
corresponding places value. Then compare the values of the digits starting
from the left most part. Affix the symbols >,< or = to show comparison

To arrange decimal least to gratest or vive versa compare the digits in the
same place value starting from the left most digits.
Rounding off decimals
Remember:

To round off decimals numbers, look at the digit on the right of the round off place. If
in digits in less than 5, retain the digit in the round off place, if the digit on the right is
equal to or greater than 5, add 1 to the round off place.

Drop the digit on the right of the round of place.

Addition & Ubtraction of decimals

Remember:
To add/ subtract decimal, write the decimal verticaly numbers vertically numbers and align
the decimal point. Fill 0 as a place hoder. Add/ sumbtract them in the same way we
add/sumtract whole numbers

Multipication of decimals
Remember:
To multiply decimal numbers, multiply as if multiplying whole numbers, Count the decimal places
both factors to find the correct number of decimal places in the product.

Multiplication of decimals by 0.1, 0.01 , 10 and 100

Remember:

to multiply decimals by
0.1 move the decimal point 1 places to the left
0.01 move the decimal point 1 places to the left
10 move the decimal point 1 places to the left
100 move tge decimal point 2 place to the left
Division of decimal by whole numbers
Remember:
to devide decimal by whole number. Place the decimal point in the quotient directly
above the decimal point in the devided, then divide as you divede whole numbers

Division of whole numbers by decimal

Remember:
To divide a whole numbers by decimal, make the divisor whole number by
moving the decimal point nth times to the right. The number of movement in the
divisor should also be the numberof zeros added to the dividend. Then, devided as
you divided whole numbers.

Division of mixed numbers

Remember:
To divide by another decimal, make the divisisor a whole numbers by moving the
decimal point nth times to the right the numbers of movement of the divisor
should by=e the samer with the number of movement of the decimal point on the
dividend, then divide the same way to you divide whole numbers.

Division of decimal by 10 ,100, & 1000

Remember:
To divide decimal by
10 move the point 1 place to the left
100 move the point 2 place to the left
1000 move the point 3 place to the left

Division of decimal by 1.0, 0.01 and 0.001

Remember:
to divide decimal
0.1 move the poin 1 place to the right
0.01 move the point 2 place to the right
0.001 move the point 3 place to the right

Annex zeros if needed
