c) You will present the task for assessment on a designated day.

This paper consists of 2 printed pages.

Candidates should check the question paper to ascertain that all the

Assessment Task: Preparation and presentation of a Kenyan Folk Dance

Guidelines
You are required to:
1. select a Kenyan folk dance for a performance lasting 2-3 minutes
2. train the selected folk dance to a group of 8 to 12 members
3. Take a lead role in presenting the folk dance detailing the following:
(i) a written synopsis of the folk dance outlining the title of the dance, the
community from which the folk dance is drawn, gender and age of the
performers, occasion in which the folk dance is performed, instrumental
accompaniment (if any) and a summary of the message relayed by the folk
dance
(ii) authentic group singing with clear vocal blend and projection
(iii) coordinated dance movement
(iv) appropriate instrumentation
(v) appropriate costumes, props and body adornments.
(vi) an overall performance that entails stage presence, confidence, artistic passion,
focused concentration, expressiveness.
