• Ati-atihan Festival- is a feast held
annually in January in Kalibo, Aklan to
honor the Sto. Nino. The name “Ati-
atihan” means” to be like Aetas” or “make
believe Atis”
• Moriones Festival- it is a colourful festival
celebrated in the island of Marinduque
wherein the participants use morion masks
to depict the Roman soldiers.
• Sinulog Festival- a famous festival in
Cebu City in honor of Sto. Nino. This
festival also shows their acceptance of
Christianity.
• Pahiyas Festival - this is a harvest festival
in honor of San Isidro Labrador, the
patron saint of farmers.
• Maskara Festival- a famous festival in
Bacolod city wherein people wear a
smiling masks as they parade on the
streets.
• Ibalong Festival- it celebrates the epic
story Ibalong who was accompanied by
three legendary heores namely, Baltog,
Handyong and Bantong.
• Panagbenga Festival- held during the
month of February, was created as a
tribute to the city’s flowers and as a way
to rise up from the devastation of the 1990
Luzon earthquake.

 With the use of basic steps in festival
dance, create 1-2 minutes of dance
accompanied with a beat. You may choose
any music from the festival dances that we
discussed. Take a video of yourself or
with a partner/group and submit it to me
through online until 5 o’clock this
afternoon.
