Instructions to the Candidate

a) Read and internalize the guidelines for the Assessment Task provided.
b) You have three (3) weeks to prepare the assessment task.
c) You will present the task for assessment on a designated day.

This paper consists of 2 printed pages.

Candidates should check the question paper to ascertain that all the
pages are printed as indicated and that no questions are missing.

Follow the steps below to guide the performance of your assessment task:

1. Learn the three stanzas of the Kenya National Anthem in Kiswahili

considering the correct diction, proper sequencing of text and stanza, and
comfortable pitching.

2. Present an oral synopsis on the Kenya National Anthem, detailing:

i. Origin of the anthem

ii. At least 3 composers of the anthem
iii. 1 local and 1 international occasion when the Kenya National anthem is
performed
iv. 2 values that can be instilled through performance of the anthem
v. 2 messages contained in the text

3. Individually perform the Kenya National Anthem in Kiswahili, observing the

appropriate practice:
i. Mastery of song (text and melody)
ii. Appropriate singing technique
iii. Stage presence
