Second Exercise
CAUSE

Cause – My teacher was absent.

Effect – The class was in disorder.
Effect – A substitute teacher was there in replacement.

Cause – I helped my mother clean the house.

Effect – In return, I was rewarded with money.
Effect – I was really tired.

Cause – I read for thirty minutes every day during the summer.
Effect – Every day I learn something new.
Effect – I got better in Literature.

Cause – Last night it rained all night long.

Effect – I couldn’t get enough sleep.
Effect – It had lots of flooding.
Cause – My brother lost his wallet at the mall.
Effect – He couldn’t buy what he wanted.
Effect – Our parents had to go back and try and look for it.

EFFECT

Effect – Mom and Dad grounded me for a week.

Cause – I didn’t hand in all of my assignments.
Cause – I got in a fight with a boy in school.

Effect – I got a 100 in my reading test.

Cause – I studied for 1 hour every night.
Cause – Me and my friend shared answers.

Effect – My brother lost the weight he gained during summer

Cause – He ate healthier than he did before.
Cause – He started working out more often than he did before.

Effect – Dad bought mom the new stove she wanted.

Cause – Dad received his monthly salary recently.
Cause – The other stove we had stopped working.

Effect – My sister got mad at me.

Cause – I took her share of food.
Cause – I was talking too much.
