It is indeed a great pleasure for us to announce, that we are starting our CA

Journey celebration by conducting Box Cricket @ ICAI Bhavan Nashik, NASHIK
BRANCH OF WIRC OF ICAI “BOX CRICKET LEAGUE (BCL)“ for the
honorable members and CA students.
The event is scheduled on 25th and 26th of June 2022
About the Game of BCL:

1. We propose to get 32 teams for the Event with a Mix of

Maximum player playing shall be 8. (Extras Max 1 in each category)

Mandatory Combination :

Members (Male) – 3 Female (Student / member) - 2 Student (Male) – 3

We also propose to conduct a Senior BCL (SBCL) Tournament:

- The team member in SBCL should haven been completed the age of 50 as on
31.05.2022 & Above
- The person interested to play SBCL is requested to register their name with the
coordinators of the event or the branch. The team shall be decided with the
support of active senior cricket members.
- Combination for the SBCL is , Team of 8 players with 1 female player
(Preferably).
- Rules for their cricket game shall be explained in due course separately.
- The SBCL members shall be playing among the SBCL member teams only. They
wont have any match with other young team members as mentioned above.
- The Proposal for separate Event for SBCL is request of Young students & CA
Members at large for their presence.

2. Rules for accepting Student for the tournament (Male / Female) :

The student should have appeared Exam in at least any of the last three attempts
(Proof Compulsory along with Form which is to be submitted) OR
-
- The Student shall be having a Valid Article ship undergoing. i.e Registration as an
Article shall be post 01.01.2019. (Proof Compulsory along with Form which is to be
submitted)

3. Rules for accepting Member for the tournament (Male / Female) :
- Member ship Number if holding the same OR
- If Exam is cleared then the year of passing (Proof of Passing certificate to be
submitted with the form)

4. The game shall be played by SOFT Tennis ball.

5. General Rules for Bowling :

- Bowling shall be UNDER ARM bowling.
- One Player is allowed One (1) Over’s i.e. Each team shall use 5 Bowlers to
complete their bowling Spell. Out of first 3 over’s, One Over Compulsorily needs
to be bowled by a female player of the team.
- There shall be a “must pitch line” on the field, every bowl shall be pitched ahead
of must pitch line or else the bowl shall be declared as a No Ball.
- The bowler has to bowl by standing within the box drawn at the bowlers end.

6. General Rules for Batting :

- One Player is allowed to play only 6 balls and after that he/she shall compulsorily
retire from batting, and let the other player’s come to bat.
- If by any chance the remaining players of the batting team are out, then the retired
player can come back to play and the rule of maximum 6 balls shall not be
enforced. Last man unlucky to bat alone.
- Out of first four players one player shall be a compulsorily be a female player of
the batting team. Rest batting order can be decided by the team.
- Double the score shall be award for the runs scored by Female by their bat.

7. General Rules :
- Wide and No Ball shall cost 2 runs.
- LBW rule is not applicable to BCL.
- Teams shall report 30 mins before the scheduled time.
- Byes and leg byes are allowed.
- The additional rules for bowling / batting shall be informed before the event.

9. Diagram for field and the run’s chart for the game:

*The field will be fenced with a rope of chest level height.

* If ball goes above the rope directly without bounce it will be OUT.
* If ball goes above the rope with a bounce /touching fielder then respective runs.
* The ball must travel the outside the ground line, i.e fielders leg crossing the ground
line shall not award the declared run.
* Running between the wickets is allowed.
* Field Placements Restriction: Players above the line 4 (including keeper) & Players
below the line 4 (including bowler)
* Figures in blue denote declared runs if the ball crosses the rope line.

➢ Last date for submission of the entry form (Hardcopy), for the event is 22nd June

2022- Till 5.00 PM at Nashik branch office.

➢ Team(s) will be enrolled on First Come Basis. ONLY FIRST 32 TEAMS

SHALL BE ENROLLED.

➢ Fees to enroll your team shall be Rs. 2500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five

Hundred only)

➢ Snacks & Tea Coupons shall be given to the team members, which shall be given

according to their playing slots.

➢ We are going to try to facilitate food at subsidized rates for the audience.

➢ One player can participate only in one team.

➢ The LOTS and Detailed Schedule of all the matches will be declared on 24th June,

2022 and same will be available at Nasik branch office.

➢ Team information i.e. name of the team, Names of team members with respective

Membership/Students Regn. Nos., Contact No., Name of the Captain (SHALL

BE CA MEMBER ONLY), etc. shall be furnished along with entry form.

➢ In the event of any disputes or issues, the decision made by the Umpires/BCL

Committee shall be final and binding. The Judges/Managing Committee shall not

be required to justify the decision so taken.

➢ BCL Committee of Nashik Branch reserves all rights to accept the player of the

team, modify, change, alter or cancel any of the activity/game including schedule

thereof and/or rules and regulations made in respect of this event, in particular or

general, without any prior intimation and also without adducing any reason(s)

thereof.
