III. Essay

Guingging is the head of her ministry in her local church. Under her leadership is Jobert
who is one of her most high performing member and who greatly helps her by doing the task
assigned to him excellently. One day, Guingging is approached by their Finance Head as
part of the church’s principles on leadership and ministry. The Finance Head informed her
that Jobert is unfaithful with his tithes again for the last month. Apparently, Jobert was
already failing to give his tithes for almost 6 months amidst several reminders and
admonitions by Guingging as well as his Life Group Leader.

As per the policy of the church, an unfaithful tither cannot function in the ministry and
should be given an opportunity to be corrected and restored to the proper path of a believer.
Hence, Guingging’s pastor has already informed Guingging of the decision of the leadership
regarding Jobert and is given the leeway to decide on Jobert’s status. However, Guingging
is also aware that the decision to temporarily allow Jobert to think on his actions and to be
restored while not being able to function might wound Jobert and could lead to him
misinterpreting the move and could impede their ministry’s progress and performance. If you
are Guingging would you allow Jobert to Pause in his functions in order to be restored or
Continue on with his wayward path? Begin by answering if you would allow him to Pause or
to Continue and then explain your answer with basis pertinent to the discussions in class.
End of Test
