1. Reference:
a. Police Blotter Entry No. 010403 dated November 25, 2023
2. On November 25, 2023 at around 4: 00 P.M, an alleged shooting incident

transpired at Chapis Village Bakakeng Central, Baguio City where-in the
victim was identified as Venanz Epsal Bighed, 32 years old, single, ESL
teacher, and a resident of Chapis Village, Bakakeng Central Baguio City.
3. As a consequence thereof the victim sustained a fatal gunshot wound in the

chest and was immediately rushed to Baguio General Hospital but was pronounced
dead on arrival by the attending physician. Recovered pieces of evidence at the crime
scene was one bullet and two cartridge cases of an unknown gun and were brought to
Baguio City Police Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
4. The above-mentioned incident was witnessed and reported at around 4:00 P.M, on
the same date by the victim’s board mate Ms. Jane Calang, 29 years old, single, an ESL
teacher. The said witness identified the suspect as the victim’s ex- boyfriend Mr. Sheld
Kawaski who fled into an unknown direction with his motorcycle.
5. This office is now conducting a manhunt operation to capture the identified

suspect. The motive of the incident is undetermined, and the case is still under
investigation.

transpired at Chapis Village Bakakeng Central, Baguio City where-in the victim
Venanz Epsal Bighed was shot by his ex-boyfriend Mr.Sheld Kawaski. The
victim was rushed at Baguio General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival
by the attending physician.
3. The manhunt operation for the suspect was successful. The suspect Mr. Sheld
Kawaski was arrested inside his friend’s house at Sgt. Floresca St. Aurora Hill,
Baguio City this day November 26, 2023 at 10:46 A.M and is currently under the
custody of this office.
4. The motive of the incident is still unknown as the suspect still denies the
accusation and totally doesn’t want to cooperate with the investigation.
5. This case is now under the investigation of the prosecution.

Venanz Epsal Bighed was shot by his ex-boyfriend Mr. Sheld Kawaski. The
victim was rushed at Baguio General Hospital but was pronounced dead on
arrival by the attending physician.
3. The suspect Mr. Sheld Kawaski was arrested inside his friend’s house at Sgt.
Floresca St. Aurora Hill, Baguio City this day dated November 26, 2023 at 10:46 A.M.
4. Mr. Alfred de Guzman is now currently detained at Baguio City Jail – Male
Dorm. The motive of shooting incident was due to jealousy. The prosecution filed
a case of Homicide under Article 249 of the Revised Penal Code against the
above-mentioned respondent at the Municipal City Trial Court in Cities (MTCC)
Branch 1, Baguio City.
5. The accused was arraigned last November 28, 2023 where he pleaded guilty and
the case was set for pre-trial on December 01, 2023.
