SUGGESTIONS FOR THE BETTER CONDUCT OF THE HALL

TO THE FELLOW COUNSEL MEMBERS AND THE RESPECTED WARDENS OF THE HALL

This is to convey the problems and issues hall mates are facing which I have gone through and
through some informal complaints against the conducts and some suggestions from the fellow hall
mates for better discharge of the conduct

In regarding the Health issues

1) A small dispensary can be provided where we can try to provide basic medicine which does
not need the medical prescription.
2) A medical record can be maintained in the hall so that we will have the information and can
try to reach out the possible solutions by reverse engineering.
3) Special diet if possible, such as milk, warm drinking water and so on if needed can be looked
into.

In regarding the Mess issues

1) We can try to add more counters, as there are very big queues while dinning.
2) Rice bowl can be made available outside of the counter line, so that refilling of rice by mess
workers would reduce.
3) Waiting time of students are increasing, it effected many students in the exam duration,
should be looked into.
4) Plates can be provided by a separate plate stand at the entrance of the dinning area so that
they can clean their plates if they want before eating.
5) A separate counter can be provided for the refilling.
6) Attendance register can be maintained to have a check on how many people are skipping
mess.
7) If any department students having some extra classes their part of that meal can be
remained on their prior permission but they should have to self-service themselves, so that
workers will not get effected from the preparations of the next meal.
8) If Add-ons are available then make them available for whole week, unlike implementing
them without regulating.
9) A kettle can be made available for the sick students for warm water.

In regarding Maintains issues

1) We can encourage the hall mates to take charge of their floor as a maintains in-charge for
that floor
2) We can communicate with those floor in-charges and address the issue
3) Water issues if any can be made to the notice through those in-charges
 4) We should have a proper discipline committee for the Hall if any condition or situations arise,
to resolve them.

Some other suggestions

1) I have come across other Hall of Residences that most of them are maintaining the social
media handles like LinkedIn and others, through which we can share the activities and also in
future we can maintain Alumni chain for the same
2) We (The Hall council) can give 30 mins time each week for suggestions and interactions in
regardance with the conduct of our duties.

In regarding the Welfare and other things we can maintain a suggestions book for the same and can
addressed through that.
