Day 1
I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
1. Identify the properties of logarithmic expression
2. Apply the properties of logarithmic expression.
3. Appreciate the importance of logarithm in real life situation.

A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of inverse functions,
exponential functions, and logarithmic functions.
B. Performance Standard The learners shall be able to apply the concepts of
inverse functions, exponential functions, and logarithmic functions
to formulate and solve real-life problems with precision and accuracy.
C. Learning The learner distinguishes between exponential function, exponential equation,
Competency/Objectives and exponential inequality. M11GM-Ie-4

B. Establishing a purpose for Objective 2: Used a range of teaching strategies that enhance learner
the lesson achievement in literacy and numeracy.

(INTEGRATION in English Unlocking Vocabulary Words)

CONTENT:
Word 1: MSTHIRAGOL (LOGARITHMS) - the other way of writing the
exponents.

Word 2: SSIONEXPRE (EXPRESSION)- in math is a sentence with a minimum of

two numbers or variables and at least one math operation.

Word 3: PERTIESPRO (PROPERTIES) - the rules governing the relationship and

interaction of numbers with each other.

1
Word 4: ETIONSQUA (EQUATIONS) - mathematical statement that shows that
two mathematical expressions are equal.

Based on the given jumble words. What do you think is our topic for today?

In mathematics it is also important. A logarithm is defined as the power to which a

number must be raised to get some other values. So, our topic for today is all
about Basic Properties of Logarithmic Expression.

At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:

1. Identify the properties of logarithmic expression
2. Apply the properties of logarithmic expression.
3. Appreciate the importance of logarithm in real life situation

Objective 2: Used a range of teaching strategies that enhance learner

achievement in literacy and numeracy.

Teaching Strategy: Read

of the new lesson speech, writing, or some other method.

I will show different kind of picture then you are going to identify what kind of
expression will show.

TRIVIA

The Scottish mathematician John Napier published his

discovery of logarithms in 1614. His purpose was to assist
in the multiplication of quantities that were then called
sines. The whole sine was the value of the side of a right-
angled triangle with a large hypotenuse.

Objective 1: Applied knowledge of content within and across curriculum

teaching areas
INTEGRATION WITHIN
2
-Mathematician-
ACROSS
-expression-English
-emosyon- Filipino

Students will watch a short video about basic properties of logarithmic expression

Objective 2: Used a range of teaching strategies that enhance learner

achievement in literacy and numeracy.
Strategy:
 Identify the addends and sum
 Identify the minued subtrahend and difference.

2. Discussing new
concepts and  What is the video all about?
practicing new skills  How many properties do we have in logarithmic expression?
#1  Do you think the given properties are helpful? Why?

Objective 3: Applied a range of teaching strategies to develop critical

thinking, as well as other higher order thinking skills
3. Discussing new Roll the dice!
concepts and
practicing new skills I have dice. Let us identify the numbers in the dice.
#2
I will call someone to roll the dice then she/he will answer the task according to
the number that comes out from the dice.

1. log3 3 =
2. log5 1 =
3. 2 log2 3 =
4. 5log5 3 =
5. 4log4 6+ 2 log2 6 =
6. 2log2 7+ 7 log7 6 + log8 8 =

Objective 2: Used a range of teaching strategies that enhance learner

achievement in literacy and numeracy.
Strategy: Identifying numbers in the dice
4. Developing mastery GROUP ACTIVITY
(leads to Formative The students has a free village to choose how to present their assigned task
Assessment 3) THE ARTIST (ROLE PLAYING)
THE COMPOSERS (SINGING)
3
THE POETS (POEM)
THE DESIGNER (GRAPHIC ORGANIZER)
THE ARTIST – Give and explain at least 3 example showing different basic
properties of logarithmic expression.
THE COMPOSERS – Explain the importance of knowing the properties of
logarithmic expression.
THE POETS – Show some instances how important logarithm in real life
situations.
THE DESIGNER – Solve the given by applying basic properties of logarithmic
expression
log 9
1. log 2 2+ log 13 1−4 log 4 5 2. 5 log 5 8+3 log 3 8−2 2

Objective 7: Established a learner – centered culture by using teaching

strategies that respond to their linguistic, cultural, socio – cultural, and
religious backgrounds.

Objective 3: Applied a range of teaching strategies to develop critical

thinking, as well as other higher order thinking skills.

Learner – Centered
Strategy: Cooperative Learning
5. Finding practical Suppose a Badjao want to watch the dancing floor fountain in San Jose, and by
application of his curiosity. He thinks to calculate the hydrogen ion concentration of water that
concepts and skills has pH level of 3.0 coming from the fountain. How many Hydrogen ion
in daily living concentration moles per liter?

TRIVIA
The Badjao are an indigenous group in the Philippines, known as sea nomads.
According to a study, they have been in the country since 500AD; described as
endemic fisherfolks who have been using sustainable fishing methods for over
1,500 years.

Let us watch a short video clip about Badjao life.

Objective 8: Adapted and used culturally appropriate teaching strategies to

address the needs of learners from indigenous groups.
Teaching Strategy: The picture can be contextualized – a picture of own
community landmark.
