Allan AlbeN. Derain

Ay manunulat ng mga iilang libro, kasali ang Iskrapbuk (UP Press), a finalist in the
Madrigal-Gonzalez Best First Book Award in 2006; Aswanglaut (Ateneo de Manila
University Press) na nanalo ng 40th National Book Award for Best Novel in Filipino and
the Gintong Aklat Award sa parehong kategorya; Ang Banal na Aklat ng mga Kumag
(Cacho and Anvil) na nanalo ng Carlos Palanca Memorial Grand Prize Award noong
2011, The Reader’s Choice Award noong 2014, and the National Book Award also
noong 2014; and The Next Great Tagalog Novel at Iba pang Kuwento na nanalo rin sa
39th National Book Award for Best Short Fiction Collection in Filipino. He edited the
aswang anthology May Tiktik sa Bubong, May Sigbin sa Silong na nanalo ng 37th
National Book Award for Best Anthology sa Filipino, at the Gintong Aklat Award. Isa
siyang propesor sa Kagawaran ng Filipino and Fine Arts Department sa Ateneo de
Manila University,nagtuturo siya ng Malikhaing Pagsulat, pagpapahalaga sa sining, at
Literatura ng Pilipinas at sa loob ng tatlong taon nagsilbi siya bilang direktor ng AILAP
(Ateneo Institute of Literary Arts and Practices).
