MEMORANDUM It a short-written report prepared specially for a person or group of


people that contains information about a particular matter

BLOG- It is a frequently updated web page used for personal commentary or business
content.
VLOG- It refers to a type of blog where most or all of the content is in a video format.

EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEAKING- It is the presentation of a carefully planned and


rehearsed speech, spoken in a conversational manner using brief notes.

VOCAL CORDS- These are two bands of smooth muscle tissue found in the larynx (voice
box); it vibrates and air passes through the cords from the lungs to produce the sound of
your voice.

ARTICULATION- It refers to making sounds. The production of sounds involves the


coordinated movements of the lips, tongue, teeth, palate (top of the mouth) and
respiratory system (lungs).

PERSUASIVE COMMUNICATION - It is a type of communication that focuses on guiding or


convincing its audience to adopt certain ideas, actions and attitudes.

INFORMATIVE COMMUNICATION- It means a pro-active approach, rather than a


reactive or ad hoc response as issues crop up. Being proactive can avoid problems that
arise from an “information vacuum.”

OPEN PUNCTUATION This punctuation is characterized by the omission of any


punctuation marks after the salutation, the complimentary closed and the end-of-the-
lines in the return address and the inside address.

TECHNICAL WRITING- This is the practice of documenting processes, such as


software manuals or instructional materials. Traditionally, it was limited to user manuals
of some sort.

OTHER ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 Information and actions required, must be clear so the reader has the information
they need to take action.
 When your message is concrete, then your audience has a clear picture of what
you’re telling them.
 When your communication is coherent, it’s logical. All points are connected and
relevant to the main topic, and the tone and flow of the text is consistent.
 Courteous communication is friendly, open, and honest. There are no hidden
insults or passive-aggressive tones. You keep your reader’s viewpoint in mind, and
you’re empathetic to their needs.
 The format of a memo follows the general guidelines of business writing. A memo
is usually a page or two long, single spaced and left justified.
 Speech is produced by the vocal organ.
 Oral sounds through mouth/nasal.
 Glottis is the opening between the vocal folds.
 Voiced sounds are those that make our vocal cords vibrate when they are
produced.
 Manuscript speaking is the word-for-word iteration of a written message. In a
manuscript speech, the speaker maintains his or her attention on the printed page
except when using visual aids.
