Do’s
Always keep the area around the machine clear of obstacles.
Always stack material where you can reach it but where it is clear of the moving parts of
the machine.
Always check that tools are sharp and set correctly.
Read labels carefully.
Wear gloves when using any hazardous tools.
If you have long hair or loose clothes, make sure it is tied back or confined.
If leaving a lab unattended, turn off all ignition sources and lock the doors.
Wash hands before leaving the lab and before eating.
Don’ts
Never wear gloves.
Never wear loose clothing or jewelry.
Never place hands near a revolving spindle.
Never leave the machine so that someone else is able to start it by pressing the cycle start
button.
Never eat, drink, or smoke while working in the laboratory.
Never work alone in laboratory.
Do not use any equipment unless you are trained and approved as a user by your Lab
staff.
Never pipette anything by mouth.
Never, ever modify, attach or otherwise change any high voltage equipment.
