and hospitality—offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance for professional and personal
development. As a student at the Stand Alone Senior High School of Don Pablo
Lorenzo Memorial High School, I am honored to be able to experience the exciting
hospitality and tourism industry inside the prestigious Astoria Regency Convention.

During my tenure at Astoria Regency Convention, I aim to absorb invaluable

heart of hospitality at Astoria Regency Convention. This experience has been a means
for me as a student at Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School - Stand Alone Senior
High School to gain firsthand knowledge of the complexities of the hospitality industry. I
ask you to accompany me as I consider the priceless lessons discovered, the difficulties
surmounted, and the deep effects of immersion in one of our community's best hotels
throughout this portfolio. This portfolio represents my development, goals, and
dedication to excellence in the hospitality industry. It includes encounters with renowned
mentors as well as practical experiences in a range of disciplines.

I had the honor of working under the direction of outstanding professionals at

Astoria Regency Convention who kindly shared their knowledge and experience with
me. Each mentor had a major influence on how I understood hospitality operations,
from Ma'am Cacai Wee's imaginative leadership as the chief manager to Ma'am Ninfa,
Sir Chris, and Sir Sid's perceptive oversight. In addition, conversations with committed
employees such as Sir Oliver, a head server known for his excellent service, gave me
vital knowledge on the subtleties of customer pleasure and service quality. You will see
firsthand how mentoring and practical experience can develop critical skills and ignite a

(February 13, 2024)

On the first day of my work immersion at Astoria Regency Convention, I eagerly

embraced the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of hospitality. Assigned to
assist with a wedding setup at the Glass House under the guidance of Sir Benjie, the
head waiter, I embarked on my first task with a mixture of excitement and anticipation.
As I entered the elegant venue, the air was alive with the buzz of preparation, as fellow
staff members meticulously arranged tables, adorned the space with floral
arrangements, and ensured every detail was perfect for the upcoming celebration.

Under Sir Benjie's expert direction, I dove into my responsibilities with gusto,
helping to set up chairs, arrange place settings, and create a magical ambiance fit for a
wedding. It was a mesmerizing sight to behold as the Glass House transformed before
my eyes, each element carefully curated to create an unforgettable experience for the
happy couple and their guests.

As the wedding setup neared completion, I seamlessly transitioned to my next

task: wrapping food for the upcoming JS Prom. With precision and care, I packaged
delectable treats and hors d'oeuvres, ensuring they were ready to delight the prom-
goers later that evening. It was a delightful change of pace, shifting from the elegance of
a wedding to the youthful energy of a prom celebration.

As the day progressed, I found myself at the heart of the action once again, this
time tasked with washing spoons and forks at the mess hall. Though seemingly
mundane, this task underscored the importance of attention to detail and cleanliness in
the hospitality industry. With each utensil meticulously cleaned and polished, I took
pride in knowing that I was contributing to the seamless operation of the establishment.

As the day drew to a close, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and
accomplishment. My first day at Astoria Regency Convention had been a whirlwind of
activity, filled with new experiences, challenges, and opportunities for growth. With each
task completed, I felt more deeply connected to the vibrant world of hospitality, eager to
continue my journey and uncover all that this dynamic industry had to offer.

The second day of my work immersion at Astoria Regency Convention unfolded

with an air of excitement and anticipation as preparations for Valentine's Day were in full
swing. Stepping into the convention hall, I was immediately captivated by the romantic
ambiance that enveloped the space. Heart-shaped decorations, twinkling lights, and
elegant floral arrangements adorned every corner, creating an enchanting atmosphere
fit for the celebration of love and romance. It was exhilarating to be part of the team
responsible for bringing this vision to life.

Throughout the day, I eagerly dove into the tasks at hand, assisting with setting
up tables, arranging chairs, and ensuring that every detail of the Valentine's Day setup
was meticulously attended to. Working alongside the dedicated team, I gained
invaluable hands-on experience in event coordination and execution. It was a rewarding
opportunity to witness firsthand the level of effort and coordination required to
orchestrate a successful event of such magnitude.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of preparations, I was also assigned a task that

tables, and ensure every detail was perfect, I couldn't help but marvel at the sheer

Midway through the preparations, Ma'am Ninfa, the supervisor, pulled me aside
from hall 2 and assigned me a new role – to assist with the wedding procession. It was
an unexpected yet exciting opportunity to be directly involved in such an important
moment for the newlyweds. With Ma'am Ninfa's guidance, I quickly familiarized myself
with the responsibilities and eagerly awaited my cue to walk in.

As the wedding ceremony unfolded, I joined the procession with a sense of pride
and purpose, ensuring that everything flowed seamlessly. Guiding guests to their seats
and assisting with any last-minute requests, I felt a deep sense of fulfillment knowing
that I was contributing to the joy and happiness of the couple on their special day. It was

Later in the day, I was assigned to assist the new crew of Ma'am Ninfa, providing
guidance and support as they navigated their roles. Together, we worked tirelessly to
ensure that guests were attended to promptly, food was served with finesse, and every
aspect of the reception ran smoothly. It was a testament to the camaraderie and
professionalism of the team, and as the festivities came to a close, I couldn't help but
feel a sense of pride in what we had accomplished together.

adorned the space to create an unforgettable atmosphere for the event. It was a thrilling
sight to witness the transformation of the hall into a glamorous setting fit for a
memorable prom night.

Amidst the flurry of preparations, I found myself being pulled from the setup in
Hall 1 by Ma'am Ninfa, the supervisor. With a quick exchange of instructions, I was
reassigned to serve at the Pavilion, an unexpected yet exciting change of pace. As I
made my way to the Pavilion, I felt a surge of excitement mingled with a hint of
nervousness at the prospect of serving guests at such a prestigious event.

Upon arrival at the Pavilion, I was warmly welcomed by the new crew under
Ma'am Ninfa's guidance. Despite the unfamiliarity of the situation, I quickly integrated
myself into the team, eager to contribute to the smooth operation of the event.
Throughout the evening, I assisted in serving guests, ensuring that their needs were
met with efficiency and courtesy. Additionally, I took on the responsibility of busting out
at the walk-in, swiftly clearing tables and maintaining the cleanliness of the venue.

As the night progressed and the festivities reached their peak, I found myself

special event. From arranging floral displays to meticulously placing tables and chairs, every detail was

Throughout the day, I eagerly assisted in the setup, immersing myself in the tasks at hand and
reveling in the opportunity to contribute to the magical atmosphere of the debut. As the sun began to
set and the evening festivities approached, I transitioned into the role of a bust outer in the walk-in,
tasked with ensuring that the venue remained clean and presentable throughout the night.

With a sense of purpose and determination, I delved into the preparations,

meticulously arranging decorations, setting up tables, and ensuring that every detail

floral arrangements to intricate cultural motifs, each element was thoughtfully curated to
honor the significance of the occasion.

Throughout the setup process, I was guided by a deep sense of respect for the
