The Faculty Development programme on “Meta Materials in Aerospace” was organised by the
Department of Mechanical Engineering of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, from 13.03.2023
to 17.03.2023. The objective of the programme is to builds 3D objects, from3D model data, by
adding layer-by-layer of material through Additive Manufacturing Technology. This one-week
program was effective and easy to implement in producing lightweight spacecraft parts to
satellites, the application of additive manufacturing in the automobile industry is vast. The
topics covered in this FDP are as follows:

 Introduction to Composite materials properties and its applications

 Nano composites
 Synthetic composites
 Design for Additive Manufacturing
 Topology Optimization Techniques
