1. Overview

The Canon CXDI image processing software LANMIX MLT (M) (called “LANMIX MLT (M)” below) is
used to add greater functionality to the image processing functions of the Canon CXDI series X-ray digital
cameras (called “CXDI” below).
Installing LANMIX MLT (M) on the control PC adds the following image processing function.
Laplacian Edge Enhancement Processing
The radiography image is made sharper based on the settings of two parameters.
These parameters are dynamic range adjustment and degree of enhancement.
In addition, at the time of installation, the serviceman can make settings so that the tabs for setting Laplacian
Edge Enhancement Processing are not displayed, and the parameters are fixed at the recommended values or
setting values.

This instruction manual describes the operating procedures for the above-mentioned image processing
function.
For other operating procedures, refer to the CXDI Series Operation Manual.

Note: LANMIX MLT (M) Version 1.0 supports CXDI System Software Version 5.1.
Other CXDI versions are not supported.

2. Laplacian Edge Enhancement Processing

Note: If the degree of enhancement of Laplacian Edge Enhancement Processing is set to

an excessive value, artifacts can occur, and the effective data of the image can be
damaged.
Refer to the image, and if the processing is applied too strongly, either set the
degree of enhancement to a smaller value or disable the setting.

Laplacian Edge Enhancement Processing makes the radiography image sharper by enhancing the edges
(contour) of radiography images.
You can check the effects of parameter changes on the QA mode screen.

Laplacian Edge Enhancement Processing Tab

(1) Enable the laplacian edge enhancement parameter.

Each time the “LAP. ENHANCEMENT” button is touched, the highlight (white text with a colored
background) display and normal display are switched. The parameter is enabled in the highlight display.

(2) Set the DYNMIC RANGE

Touch the or buttons to set the DYNMIC RANGE in the 1 to 20 range.
The displayed value on the left is the saved value, and the value on the right is the current value.
This value becomes the dynamic range of radiography images.
Larger setting values result in wider dynamic range, and smaller values result in narrower dynamic range.

(3) Set the value for EFFECT.

Touch the or buttons to set the value for EFFECT in the 1 to 20 range.
The displayed value on the left is the saved value, and the value on the right is the current value.
This value is the degree of enhancement for the edges of radiography image.
Larger setting values result in greater enhancement, and smaller values result in lower enhancement.

(4) To save the modified parameters, touch the “SAVE PARAM” button, and to return the modified
parameters to their original values, touch the “RESET” button. To exit the screen, touch the “OK”
button.
* “SAVE PARAM” is displayed when is pressed.
