Multi factor authentication access control for student and staff based on RFID,

barcode and GIS

The University of Zambia's ability to regulate who has access to its offices,
student housing, and campus is restricted, endangering the safety of its personnel,
students, and data. The University's security is weak
Personal possessions belonging to staff members and students have been lost
from offices, dorms, and cars parked in university parking lots. Commonplace items
frequently lost include media devices like iPads, computers, and cell phones and items
like garments stolen from the clothesline. Offices have also often seen handbag thefts.
The UNZA only has a few access control methods. There is no standard that
the access control measures that have been implemented follow. The University does
not have any formal policies to regulate access. There are no particular identifying
procedures to distinguish employees or students from outsiders. The university
campus is always open to guests, faculty, and staff. The University's security guards
and the services of a security firm need to be improved, particularly during student
unrest.
The primary goal of this study was to create a multifactor student and staff
access control system to increase security at UNZA and maintain an audit trail for all
visitors. Simukali, C. M. (2019).

Intelligent Student Attendance Management System Based on RFID Technology

These days, applications based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) are

becoming more common in various sectors, including transportation, industry, and
healthcare. Manually collecting attendance during class takes a significant amount of
time and resources. Taking attendance is challenging when there are a lot of pupils in
the class; therefore, understanding how to obtain the attendance rate automatically is
crucial for school administration.
In this study, they suggested a more straightforward application of RFID
technology: enabling an instructor to take attendance automatically rather than by
hand. An information service system that uses web-based apps and programmable
devices is built and implemented, together with an RFID-based attendance control
system. The test results validate the practicality of the proposed technology.
