    JOB DESCRIPTION

    ASSISTAND ENGINEERING MANAGER

    Job Summary
    Assists Engineering Manager in carrying out his responsibilities and assumes responsibilities in
    Engineering Manager absence.

    Authority
    Has authority to take on the spot decisions to ensure smooth running of plant and machinery and to
    carry out Engineering Manager instructions and to ensure that maintenance programmed and
    operation schedules and procedures are carried out.

    Responsibilities
    1. Learn his and Engineering Manager job description.
    2. Assist Engineering Manager in carrying out his responsibilities.
    3. Make inspections as necessary to ensure that Engineering Manager instructions are adhered
    to.
    4. Assume responsibility in Engineering Manager absence.
    5. Keep Engineering Manager informed of all happenings in Department.
    6. Ensure that safety rules and regulations are complied with.
    7. Monitor spare parts/supplies
    8. Ensure correct timekeeping of Shift Engineers.
    9. Make sure that staff are neat and clean.
    10. Attend meetings as assigned by Engineering Manager.
