Introduction

Our main goal is to create a sustainable birthday party, one that is fun and engaging, yet also environmentally
friendly. Most people believe that you can’t have both at the same time, and that it is so much easier to just do a
normal celebration, but what they don’t realize is that having a zero-waste event can sprout much more
creative ideas in order to have the least amount of rubbish possible, and not wasting anything, as well as being
eco-friendly. We live in a time in which we must act now to help our planet, so why not do it while also having
the best celebration of your life?

We will be advertising an Apollo-themed birthday party idea. This is because he is associated with many things,
including the sun, poetry, music, and archery, so we can have many diverse activities in one event plan. Also,
there has been a huge rise of people interested in Greek Mythology, due to the new show about it, as well as it
becoming more mainstream with its symbolism and relevance in today’s culture.

As we are also part of the yellow zone, incorporating yellow into our theme would be an easy task, as the sun
and the sky are our main motif. We will be having our floor designed to look like we are on the clouds, our
table will have Greek symbols, like the laurel wreath, as well as electronically powered candles in order to be the
light of the sun. Many activities will also be featured, like making lanterns, and a board in which people can
write messages or draw. There will also be a chariot, representing the legend in which Apollo would carry the
sun up and down every day with it, and we will take pictures of our guests in it, as well as music playing in the
background.

Budgeting and Resource Management

Organizing a sustainable birthday party involves mindful budgeting and resource management to minimize
environmental impact. Thoughtful consideration is essential in determining a budget aligned with sustainable
practices, utilizing tools and methods that promote eco-friendly celebrations isn’t an easy task, one quick
Amazon search will show you just how limited our options were and just how much our team had to think
outside the box to organize everything. Efficient resource allocation throughout the event, guided by
eco-friendly criteria, ensures a minimal environmental footprint, we made sure we thoughtfully purchased
each and every item, with absolute minimal environmental impact, and the most product value for our budget.
Our group leader did an excellent job at managing our resources making sure everything was well within our
budget, bought in a suitable quantity, meets all our criteria for eco-friendly and at times biodegradable
birthday party supplies.

Although it was challenging enough to allocate our financial resources mindfully, we were also met with
another difficulty which was purchasing theme-appropriate decorations on time without needing to designate
a larger than needed portion of our budget, as “Greek mythology” and “Apollo” aren’t common birthday party
themes let alone in a sustainable fashion, albeit we’d argue there’s no better way to do it.
Upon the project’s initiation the 17 group members involved in the project unanimously agreed to each
contribute 100 dhs towards enhancing our project to make a more powerful marketing campaign and
statement for the much-needed initiative to make birthday parties more sustainable. Our contributions
amounted to a sum of 1,700 dhs in budget which we deemed beyond perfect in order to achieve our objectives.

Budget: 2200 dhs

Budget Allocation: theme-appropriate and sustainable plates, cutlery, and other dinnerware, table decorations
and enhancers (flowers, lanterns/candles, etc).
The budget was spent as such:
The spending for the business day preparation can be categorized into three main areas: decor and supplies,
food and refreshments, and miscellaneous expenses. The bulk of the budget, totaling 1,495.67 AED, was
allocated to decor and supplies, encompassing items like Greek pillars, paint, gold spray paint, and various
other decorations sourced from Amazon. This category reflects investments in creating an aesthetically
pleasing and professional ambiance for the event. In an effort to promote sustainability and eco-friendliness,
our team diligently attempted to return as many items as possible after the event. By returning unused or
excess items, we aimed to minimize waste and reduce our environmental footprint. Furthermore, each item
was carefully selected to ensure the best price-to-quality ratio, balancing affordability with durability and
functionality. This meticulous approach allowed us to make prudent spending decisions, maximizing the value
of every expense incurred. Whether it was choosing eco-friendly decor options or selecting locally sourced
refreshments, sustainability and quality were prioritized throughout the planning process. By consciously
integrating these principles into our budgeting and procurement practices, we aimed to not only create a
successful event but also contribute positively to the environment and community.

This budgeting report indicates an average spending of around 130 AED per girl for the business day
preparation.

Marketing and Communication

The marketing and communication strategies for our sustainable and eco-friendly birthday party business
project are designed to intrigue passersby into considering our unique, effective, elegant, and aesthetic
approach for an Apollo-themed sustainable, and eco-friendly birthday party. Beyond any elaborate marketing
strategy we may incorporate we are confident that the setup alone will deliver a powerful enough message to
spark something in the minds of our audience and respected judges. Our approach emphasizes transparent and
authentic messaging to highlight the use of eco-friendly materials and practices throughout the celebration.
We’ll show the audience that with simple wooden cutlery and other dinnerware, you can not only elevate the
aesthetics of your birthday party but also be a smart environmentally-conscious member of society.
Incorporating biodegradable and eco-friendly material such as “Marigold paper” for our invitations -seeded
paper that can be planted in soil upon usage to grow a plant- is a powerful tool in delivering our message.
Furthermore, we won’t let our setup do all the talking, we’ve designated 3 of our most well-spoken members to
do the honor of presenting our Apollo-themed sustainable birthday party through honest and intelligent
marketing, appealing to the rich minds of our viewers. Additionally, we’ve come up with a couple of fun and
engaging games for the audience where they can discover just how fun sustainability could be. We aim to create
a narrative that not only underscores the unique and memorable aspects of our birthday parties but also
educates our audience on the positive environmental impact of choosing sustainable options. Overall, our
marketing and communication strategies are centered on creating a compelling story that aligns with the
values of our target audience, fostering a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship in celebration
planning.

Teamwork and Collaboration

As we will be dividing ourselves into teams, each team with a specific task, in order to ensure teamwork will go
smoothly our leader and co-leader are going to look over their work and supervise them, as well as help them
with any issues that arise. And just because we are separated into teams does not mean that we will not help
one another, in fact we would be able to help each other much more efficiently as we know the specific goal
each one of us is looking for. We have also assigned group leaders for the design and building team, in order to
ensure this goes as smoothly as possible.

In order to build rapport with our clients and judges, we plan to be completely honest about the sustainability
factor of our project and show how each material is eco-friendly. We are also going to host fun activities so we
can attract the attention of people and keep them interested.
Creativity and Innovation

The creativity and innovation behind our Greek mythology-themed birthday party, specifically centered around
Apollo, are not only visually captivating but also environmentally responsible, making it a pioneer in
sustainable event planning. The decorations are designed with meticulous attention to detail, utilizing
eco-friendly materials such as recycled paper banners, compostable cutlery, and marigold paper for vibrant,
biodegradable accents. Apollo's mythological charm infuses the party with a unique and timeless ambiance,
providing a cultural and educational backdrop to the celebration.

Our marketing campaign for this eco-friendly birthday party is a powerful advocacy tool for greener
celebrations. We leverage various platforms to showcase the creativity and sustainability inherent in our events,
using captivating visuals and engaging content. Highlighting the innovative aspect of our approach, we
emphasize the fusion of ancient mythology with contemporary eco-conscious choices. This narrative creates a
compelling story that resonates with our target audience, framing sustainability not as a compromise but as a
sophisticated and forward-thinking approach to event planning. Communicating with our audience through
sustainability advocates amplifies our message, reaching a broader audience and inspiring a cultural shift
towards greener birthday parties.

In essence, the creativity and innovation of our sustainable Apollo-themed birthday party extend beyond
aesthetics, embracing a commitment to eco-friendly practices. This celebration becomes a powerful marketing
campaign, advocating for greener choices in the birthday party industry, challenging norms, and inspiring a
movement towards more sustainable and mindful celebrations.
