Subject: Feasibility Report for Charging Outlet Purchase in UM Tagum College

Purpose of the Report

The purpose of this report is to determine what charging outlet will best meet the needs
and budget provided. Technology in the classroom is everywhere and has many
learning benefits but also creates practical challenges. We will recommend some of the
most cost-effective yet eliminating wait times for device charging and standard quality of
charging outlets.

Statement Problem

As stated in the report, the school needs new charging outlet for the following reasons:

 The school’s existing electric outlets are insufficient to meet the growing needs of
students and staff.
 Unsafe practices such as daisy extension cords or overloading circuits, can
cause electric fire and other hazards.
 Classrooms require more electric outlets to support the use of various devices
such as a projector.

Vendor Contacts

Our vendor contacts for the charging outlet are as follows:

Kayal Piwin Kaizen

Criteria for Vendors

1. Service Quality – It is essential to know that the entity is established and the
quality of their service or their service personnel are ready to serve and have the
ability to satisfy the customers’ requirements. In addition to this, service
technicians should be well-trained and certified to do their tasks when rendering
service.
2. Cost – The total budget for purchasing the product is P85,000
3. Warranties – The warranties should be at least a period of two to three years
after the date of the initial installation of the product.
4. Reliability – We need to purchase the products from those vendors who respond
to emergency requirements promptly. Know their performance and ensure they
have a stable supply of quality products.
5. Maintenance – One of the primary causes of electrical fires and electrocutions is
faulty outlets. We need to purchase charging outlets/stations with at least an
annual service agreement (at no extra or high charges).

Needs assessment

Purchasing agrees that the university needs to have additional outlets. There are
currently 50 charging outlets available in the school, some are not even functioning
properly. Apart from being in high demand, they are often occupied and not easily
accessible to the students and staff.

Cost Analysis

Charging stations/outlet – UM Tagum College requests 50 additional outlets to be

distributed to every room in UM Tagum campus as well as replacement of those outlets
that are not usable or working anymore. Our analysis has found an affordable outlet that
meets your specifications that would cost P1,605.00 each. When totaling the cost, the
overall is P80,250.00 thus it does not exceed the budget.

The following tables compares the three vendors we researched on a scale of 1-3. 3
representing the highest score.

CRITERIA KAYAL PAWIN KAIZEN

Service Quality 3 3 2
Cost 2 2 3
Warranties 3 2 1
Reliability 2 3 3
Maintenance 2 3 1
Total 12 13 10

Summary of Findings

Based on the cost, purchasing an affordable outlet does not exceed to its budgeted
cost, thus it does not need to adjust the budget.

All three vendors have the specific criteria you require. However, Kayal and
Kaizen do not meet the criteria. In particular, Kayal lacks in maintenance and reliability
while Kaizen lacks in warranty, maintenance and service quality.

Recommended Action

As shown in the table, Pawin Company has met the criterion as the best vendor. We
propose that an additional charge of P7(dividing the number of students and the cost)
be included in the student's tuition as a miscellaneous fee.
