RECREATIONAL THERAPY 1:

“JUMBLED WORD"

OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the activity, the geriatric patient would be able to have fun, relax and enjoy the
activity to improve their overall health and emotional well-being.

MATERIALS:

 Cards with letters

PROCEDURE:

1. Begin with the orientation preliminaries such as the date, address, name and purpose of
the activity.
2. Introduce the activity
3. The players would be group into 5 groups first. Then they will be sitting in a prepared
lined chair with their group members.
4. The player sitting on the first chair will be the first one to be given a set of card with
jumbled letters.
5. The player should arrange the jumbled letters into a word and read it loud.
6. After the first player finished, the player behind would be the next one to be given a set
of card with jumbled letters, until all the members of the group solved the jumbled
words.
7. The last player should call a student nurse facilitator and read aloud or show all the words
they solved.
8. The groups to finish will be given a prize.

RECREATIONAL THERAPY 2:

“REMEMBER ME"

OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the activity, the geriatric patient would be able to have fun, relax and enjoy the
activity to improve their overall health and emotional well-being.

MATERIALS:

 Pictures

PROCEDURE:

1. Begin with the orientation preliminaries such as the date, address, name and purpose of the
activity.
2. Introduce the activity
3. The players would be group first into 5 groups and sit with their members.
4. Each groups would be given 12 pictures, each one picture has a pair.
5. The pictures is arranged and revealed at the table. The players will be given one minute to
remember the position of each pictures and its pairs.
6. After one minute, the facilitators will flip-back the pictures.
7. Then, first player of the group will flip one picture then find its pair based on where they
remembered it positioned. Each member has to find 1 pair of picture at a time.
8. The groups to finish will be given a prize.
