 Background of AHWL
• The Company was originally incorporated as Chillwinds Hotels Private Limited on January 8,
2007.

• The Company entered into a Scheme of Arrangement and Demerger with M/s Asian Hotels
Limited, M/s Vardhman Hotels Limited and its shareholders which became effective on February
11, 2010.

• On the scheme becoming effective the Mumbai undertaking ( i.e. Hotel Hyatt Regency Mumbai) of
the Asian Hotels Limited was demerged and vested in the Company. The name of the Company
was further changed to Asian Hotels (West) Limited w.e.f February 12, 2010 pursuant to the
scheme. Appointed date of the scheme is 1st November 2009.

• Asian Hotels (West) Limited is a Public Limited Company listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange
(BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

• The Company owns and run 5 Star Deluxe Hotel Hyatt Regency, Mumbai (401 rooms) located at
Sahar Airport Road near international Airport. Hotel is built on freehold land of approx 3.80 Acres

• The Company has a subsidiary company (holding 99.98%) – Aria Hotels and Consultancy
Services Pvt. Ltd (Aria). Aria runs 5 Star Deluxe Hotel JW Marriott Delhi Aerocity Hospitality
district ( 523 Rooms) plus 1.20 lacs sq ft of commercial and retail space on 4.50 acres of land.

 Current Situation
• On 28th April 2021; AHWL defaulted on Debt Payments of 4 Crores;
Yes Bank Limited (AHWL sole banker) decided to withhold all
working capital funds for Hyatt Regency Mumbai in Escrow
• On 10th June 2021; Hyatt Regency Mumbai had to shut down
operations; due to the inability to fund day to day operations
• Currently Company is under liquidation process; remains to be seen
which route the bank takes; either SARFESI (Selling of Asset) or
Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Selling of company)
• Bank has filed under both NCLT and DRT
