We are the Grade 12 STEM students of Baguio City National High School, currently immersed
in our Practical Research 2 subject. We are writing to formally seek your approval for the
utilization of the University of the Baguio laboratory and, more specifically, to request your
invaluable assistance in handling and conducting tests on Klebsiella and Staphylococcus
aureus bacteria.

Our research project entitled Evaluating Electrolytically Produced Hypochlorous Acid as a

Hand Sanitizer: A Study on its Effectiveness Against Common Hand Bacteria" focuses on
evaluating the effectiveness of electrolytically-generated Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) as a
hand sanitizer against bacteria commonly found in hand, specifically Klebsiella and
Staphylococcus aureus. Recognizing the complexity of the procedures involved, we
acknowledge the need for expert guidance and support in the proper handling of these
bacterial cultures and the application of the HOCl solution. We are pleased to inform you
that our Research Adviser, Mr. Joey B. Lartec, has already approved this research endeavor.
Understanding the significance of adhering to all necessary precautions and protocols in
handling and utilizing bacterial cultures, we are committed to maintaining the highest
standards of safety and ethical conduct throughout the study.

Access to the cutting-edge facilities at UB, coupled with your laboratory's expertise, would
undoubtedly elevate the quality and precision of our study. We kindly seek your assistance in
navigating the intricacies of handling these bacteria and applying the electrolytically-
generated HOCl solution effectively.
