What is an ornamental plant?

- Ornamental plants are plants that are

grown for their beauty rather than for
their fruit or flowers. They are often used
in landscaping to add color and interest to
a garden. Some common ornamental plants
include ivy, holly, and azaleas.

Benefits of Ornamental Planting

There are several benefits that you can get
from ornamental plant gardening that you can
feel.
1. Aesthetically Appealing
Ornamental gardens help create a visual
wonder with the different plants forming a
diverse color palette. In the day and age of
social media, an ornamental garden could be
great to boost your profile as well.
2. Climate Regulator and Air Purifier
Plants in general are the best natural air filters
converting carbon dioxide into oxygen, a
necessity for survival. A multitude of different
plant species will help amplify recycling the
air and also regulate humidity levels in the
atmosphere.
3. Major Stress Reliever
The presence of greenery at any point has
always been very calming to the human
presence. The divine beauty of nature is that it
silently strokes out any anxiety or
uncomfortable feeling and instills a sense of
peace which in turn promotes productivity.
4. Prevents Soil Erosion
Ornamental gardens tend to have a sturdy
landscape as the different plants help maintain
a balance in the foundation of the soil.
5. Improves Quality of Space
Ornamental plants don’t just improve the
aesthetic appeal of the garden property but
they also act as wind barriers providing great
quality of space. They provide habitat for
many organisms and also clean up pollutants
from nearby pollinating plants.
