PARAPHRASE /SUMMARY 1 :

(Please add the intext citaion to your summary/paraphrase):

A variety of meanings may be conveyed by body language, much like unwritten norms. In some

situations, we may communicate common sense through our body language. As an illustration,

waving an outstretched hand with an open palm signifies "goodbye" whereas extending a hand

conveys "welcome." In order to convey the same attitudes and meanings, we can use gaze and eye

management. In a lot of nations, the ability to stare someone in the eyes is regarded important.

Looking at someone of the other sex is considered disrespectful or an invitation to a sexual

connection in most cultures.

In this article, the Ren explains that body language can have different meanings and may have

similarities and differences according to culture.(2014).

Body language, like unwritten rules, can convey a wide range of meanings. In some circumstances

through the same body language we can share the common sense. For example, an outstretched

hand shows welcome; waving an outstretched hand with open palm is the gesture for “goodbye”.

The ability to look someone straight in the eye is considered significant in a number of countries. In

most cultures, looking at a person of the opposite sex is considered rude or an invitation to a sexual

relationship. Some of the facial expressions convey the same meanings from culture to culture. The

bushy eyebrows that extended high on the forehead show the surprised impression. Smile indicates

one’s being in good mood or having friendly attitude almost in every culture…..
