T
he very Society that has become the stronghold of everyone’s hope, inspiration and resiliency during this
trying time of the pandemic and witnessed the unparalleled display of our innate solidarity will virtually
celebrate its 75th Diamond Anniversary during its 2021 Annual Convention on November 9-12, 2021.

Inspired by the fitting theme, #RISE Up to the New Normal (Relevant, Innovative, Sensitive, Engaging), the Annual
Convention Organizing Committee collectively drew a beautiful plan to promise a holistic and comprehensive
scientific meeting that will cater to all interests, short of the traditional face-to-face engagement.

I look forward to seeing all the members, especially during the annual business meeting, which will be preceded
by the POGS Hours where updated non-legislative matters from the PHIC, HMO and UHC will be made simple
for every member to appreciate.

The plenary sessions are themed accordingly as to relevance, innovation and sensitivity to match and awe the
delicate preferences of the members on subject matters intended for professional advancement. The diligent
participation of the subspecialty and affiliate societies will be featured in the afternoon’s simultaneous sessions,
while the industry partners’ collaboration will be showcased in the sunrise, midday, sunset and twilight symposia.

The engaging part of the congress will be ushered in two divided fellowship events where surprise presentations
from the members across the country and performances of professional performing artists are in store for
everyone as our Diamond Jubilee will be aptly celebrated.

This unprecedented crisis has taught everyone and every sector the urgency to adapt and discover more
mutually beneficial ways to enhance collaborative ties with as many stakeholders as possible, in order to help
one another in whatever way, while maintaining the highest ethical and moral standards in every decision and
action. There is no doubt that we will conquer every road block and realize aligned goals as written in the mission
and vision statement of the POGS.

This virtual format should not be a road block to deter us from fruitions. Let us rather focus our eyes on the true
message of this annual congress- to promote professional growth, to safeguard mental health and to nourish
camaraderie.

O
n the occasion of the POGS 75th Diamond Anniversary Celebration and 2021 Annual Convention, we
celebrate this momentous event with the theme “RISE Up to the New Normal” amidst the pandemic. It
will be held on November 9-12, 2021. The Organizing Committee has worked hard in order to provide
the members and stakeholders a Relevant, Innovative, Sensitive and Engaging program aimed to enhance our
professional growth and camaraderie. As our commitment to “give back”, we have prepared excellent scientific
sessions and captivating social activities. Renowned speakers, both international and local, will share their
expertise on current issues in line with our theme:

Relevant: Matters attuned to the recent events such as the impact of the Covid pandemic on women’s health

Innovative: Embracing technology with novel modes of adapting to the new normal

Sensitive: Social Obstetrics and the Economics of Health, the recently released WHO Labor Care Guide,
scientific works and focused sessions by subspecialty societies

Engaging: Health related-activities, fellowship nights, ceremonials dedicated to the pillars of the society and
our young colleagues
