Answer the following questions.
Q1. Describe three ways that we can tell that a
chemical reaction has taken place and give an example
of each.

Ans- Three ways to tell that a chemical change has


taken place are-

1.colour change- Rusting of iron


2. precipitate formation – Burning of match stick
3. gas formation- Reaction of vinegar and baking soda

Q2. When clear limewater is mixed with carbon


dioxide, the reaction forms a substance called
calcium carbonate.

a Name the reactants in the reaction.

c How can we say that the reaction has taken place?

Ans- A new substance has formed.

Q3. Zara drops a fizzy tablet into glass of water. What


evidence will she have that a chemical reaction is taking
place?

Ans- After dropping fizzy tablet into the glass of


water the water changes colour.

Q4. What is a melting point?

Ans- The melting point of a substance is


the temperature at which this substance goes from the
solid state to the liquid one, at a normal pressure .

Q5. Why does food cook faster in the oven in a


metal dish than in a glass dish?
Ans- The food cook faster in the oven in a metal dish
than in a glass dish because metal heats up faster than
glass,
