DETAIL OF ACTIVITIES & LEARNING:

Activities at L&D Unit:

1. API study: Following APIs were learnt and evaluated including Cooling tower, Steam turbine,
Furnace, Combustion and fuels, Process & Control, Introduction to compression, Heat and
temperature.
2. AUTOCAD training: Basic level AutoCAD training was attended, grabbed an opportunity to learn
how to read and sketch 2D diagrams on AutoCAD.
3. Safety Guidelines: Overview of plant safety was discussed thoroughly including emergencies and
responses.
4. Departmental Orientations: Orientations were attended to have an overview of organogram and
job duties of every department.

Activities at PSG-Operations Unit:

1. HHI Manual reading and Process understanding:

 General introduction of circulating fluidized bed boilers (CFBC boilers).

 Study of Procedure for startups and shutdown of CFBCs including cold, warm and hot
startups.

2. P&IDs & Line tracing:

Comprehensive learning of PIDs along with lines tracing at plant site was carried out for following
circuits.

 Water and Steam Circuit (Steam Drum, Economizer, Attemperators, Super heaters).
 Air Circuit (Primary, Secondary & Loop seal air).
 Vent and Drain Circuit (Flash Tank & Blow Down Tank).
 Solid feeding circuit (Coal, Limestone & Sand feeding).

3. Discussions & Evaluation:

Productive discussions were held, and tests were conducted for P&IDs from Department end.
