The lesson was well prepared for students. Dana displayed knowledge of the content and the
students' relationship to it. Dana used technology and prepared individual slides with nonsensical
words for students.

A video was used to engage students in content and to meet various learning styles. Connections to
content were made throughout the lesson. Dana asked the students to explain their answers…How
did you know that? Expectations were clear and well-written, and the plan was well-written.
Students connected with the board to show prior knowledge of the lesson.

The lesson was clear and well-constructed. Student expectations were consistent throughout the
lesson. Dana did a great job pulling students back into the lesson to keep students with special
needs engaged.

Lesson Plan:
Dana's lesson plan was very detailed and had modifications written for her students in the
Special Education Department. The lesson plan included Pennsylvania state academic standards for
reading. A lesson in phonemes. The materials prepared for this lesson included PowerPoint slides, a
video, whiteboards, paper and crayons, a letter board, and tiles to meet kinesthetic, visual, and
auditory learning styles.
