Outcome Reflection 8 – Starting the Outline for Research
1. How has this assignment helped you engage in your chosen outcome? Did you write
about one of the goals in the outcomes, or did you apply the skills talked about in each
one?
- For this reflection, I will be reflecting on the “Starting the Outline” Progress
Work and will be specifically reflecting on the Research Genre Production
outcome. For this progress work, we essentially had to start the outline for our
research. We had to write a few sentences for each section in our research
project, including the Introduction section, methods section, results section, and
the discussion section. Since each of these sections will eventually be apart of
our main Research project for the semester, we are producing within the research
genre, and thus engaging in the outcome of Research Genre Production and
applying the skills of producing in the research genre to our outline.

2. How does this assignment or activity connect with other course outcomes or build
towards upcoming major assignments?

- This assignment is a progress work and will be used as a building block for our
Research Project draft, which will then be used for our Research Project major
assignment. This is because the information on what we should include in our
sections of our Research Project is described in the progress work, and the
outline will be able to be used eventually or the Research Project itself.
