Outcome Reflection 7: Using Multiple Literacies

1. How did you marshal/leverage multiple literacies (e.g. speaking, listening, reading,
multilingual writing, translating, multimodality, etc.) to support your writing
processes of this particular work?
- In Major Assignment 2, I was able to marshal/leverage multiple literacies to
support my writing processes by including different images or multimodality to
support my text and help engage the viewer. I was able to make my Major
Assignment 2 a PowerPoint, which helped to add multi-modality to my writing and
present my writing processes in a more unique way. This combined the literacies of
reading and multimodality, and allowed my assignment to showcase my writing
processes more effectively by supporting my writing and adding depth to what I
was writing.
2. Did you use multiple modes (Gagich) here? Did you use or work with multilingual
literacy practices? Did you reflect on your reading, writing or literacy practices?
Elaborate.
- I used multiple modes for Major Assignment 2, including a linguistic mode, or
writing/text and a visual mode, which was from including clip art to support my
writing, and pictures of my textual artifacts which could be used as references and
to support my writing. However, I didn’t use any multilingual literacy practices, as I
didn’t think it was needed to support my literacy for the assignment. This is because
for the assignment, I reflected on my different writing from the past 6 months, and
the reason as to why I wrote the different artifacts that I made.
