RAPE CASE
A grade 10 female student was found undressed and weak after allegedly being harassed by
classmates after attending a party. Investigation showed that the victim's classmates picked her
up at home to attend a debut birthday party. Based on what I’ve heard and see on the news when
the victim was questioned, she admitted that she joined the drinking session at the party and that
she was forced to consume alcohol against her will until she got drunk.
When it was time to go home, one of the suspects offered the victim a ride on his motorcycle.
The victim was made to ride the motorcycle a bit drunk. So one of the colleagues also rode in the
back but then the vehicle then drove away to a remote spot in Barangay Jaguimit, where the
alleged crime took place and according to what I hear and saw on the video five of the seven
boys took turns raping the victim.
If I were to analyze it maybe the suspects already had a plan to do it because how come they
have the courage to rape her if they don’t plan it at first. So when they had the chance to execute
their plan they immediately grab it because as what I’ve said they picked up the victim from their
house to attend a debut party, however the victim got drunk and when the suspects notices that
she is somehow cannot take care of herself then they took advantage on it. So in the first place if
they don’t have the motive to rape the victim then they wouldn’t do that they would not gonna
take advantage of a person that is drunk but however they already thinking of doing something
on their mind and due to aggressiveness they execute it.
Based on the overall information that I have gathered on the news when the victim was
questioned, she admitted that she joined the drinking session at the party and that she was forced
to consume alcohol against her will until she got drunk. She recalled being taken to a dark place
where she was repeatedly raped and forced to perform oral sex with the other guys.As what I’ve
noticed on the video of a grade 10 student who is a victim of a gang rape I think the primary
reason why she is the victim of the said crime it is because she is drunk from the party that they
attended so when it’s time to go home basically the girl do not have the strength to handle herself
anymore so one of the suspects help her to get on the motorcycle, at that time and as a person
with interest the suspects took advantage on that kind of situation they took advantage to rape the
victim because the victim is no longer in the right frame of mind.

According to Anneke Meyer (2004)
This article uses discourse analysis to identify and critically examine the major discourses which
are produced around rape involving alcohol in one major daily newspaper, the Daily Mail. This
conservative paper disapproves of women’s binge drinking and is unsympathetic to victims of
rape involving alcohol. The analysis indicates that its discourses deprecate and delegitimise
victims by reinvigorating and refashioning old rape myths, re-gendering rape involving alcohol
as a problem of female drinking rather than male sexual violence, and c) masquerading women's
responsibilities and risks as rights.

MURDER CASE
Before the murder took place, Gabutero had arranged to meet Tocmo at the footbridge near his
residence last July 16, which was located beside Banawa Elementary School in Barangay
Guadalupe. At the footbridge, Gabutero said he noticed Tocmo was drunk. When he asked her
why she had another lover, Tocmo told him that the man was just her friend and that’s Gabutero
admitted choking Rhea Mae to death in a fit of jealousy. He said he and Rhea Mae became lovers
last December 5. The suspect said he lost his temper when he discovered that Rhea Mae was
chatting with other men and to add fuel on the fire it was disputely reported and escalated further
when Gabutero learned that Tocmo was allegedly a drug user and just because of that Gabutero
commit a heinous crime which lead him to killing his lover by choking her and locking her neck
with his arms. Due to intense jealousy and possessiveness has tragically led to heinous crimes
like murder when one party discovers their partner’s involvement with someone else.
So based on what I saw on the video the main motive of the criminal is that he wanted to kill
Rhea Mae Tocmo out of jealousy it is because he found out that Tocmo had another lover that’s
why he did think of any possible solution he could do because his partner just cheated on him
and days after that Reah Mae was found dead, her corpse stuffed inside an abandoned box along
the street in Sitio Mohon in Brgy. Tisa, Cebu City on July 17. This case had already been solved
or considered by the PNP as a solved case it’s is because the accused himself finally admitted as
the perpetrator that he killed Tocmo due to intense jealousy and it is considered as a crime of
passion
So Rhea Tocmo became the victim of the crime it is because she has been caught by Gabutero
talking or chatting with another guy on her social media account and as a boyfriend of course if
you love your girlfriend you will gonna feel the mix emotions of being afraid of losing your
partner, protecting what’s yours and being triggered of doing something wrong essentially, it’s a
complex mix of emotions tied to our desires and fears that can lead us to do heinous crime and
that’s why I am saying this it is because the reason why Tocmo became the victim of a murder
case is that his partner is drown to jealousy just because he found out that Tocmo had an affair
with another man.

RRL:
According to Paul E Mullen (1993)
“The crime of passion and the changing cultural construction of jealousy” killings motivated by
jealousy are, on occasion, glorified by the term ‘crime of passion’. The response to such crimes
depends on the prevailing attitudes to jealousy and the legal practices current at the time. In our
current emotionology jealousy is increasingly regarded as psychopathological and as such ceases
to be the responsibility of the jealous individual. If jealousy is to be translated from a vengeful
cry of rage into a disappointed hope, it is essential to recognise that most jealous reactions fall
within the scope of normal human experience.

ROBBERY CASE
On November 25, 2023 a jewelry store in downtown Cebu City was robbed by four armed men
who identified themselves as members of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) around 8 to
9 a.m. on the said date. One of them sprang over the display cabinets and grabbed all the gold
jewelry off the shelf, giving it to his companion who was carrying a sando bag, while the other
two, armed with long guns, acted as lookouts and no seems to realize that a robbery has occurred
even the security at the other store seems do not know what is happening. But later on Tata who
is a witness of the said Incident, a jewelry cleaner who sees what happened all throughout the
robbery incident, said one of the perpetrators yelled when they entered the establishment, “The
guard is wanted, we are from the NBI, don’t move.” And because the robbers use high-caliber
firearms and their method of robbery the witness had not done anything throughout the time
when they robbed the store.
So the only motive I can see on this case or the said the said incident is basically to robbed due
to poverty or the need of money because they actually did it and the reason of it is the one and
only money because they will not gonna robbed a jewelry store if they aren’t in need of money.
The amount of stolen jewelry from the Oro Sugbo pawnshop is around 3 million. The incident
has not only left the employees and locals in shock but also raised serious questions about public
security. As the law enforcement agencies continue their tireless pursuit, the city waits with bated
breath, hopeful for the swift delivery of justice.
The owner of the store is not actually just the victim of it but the guard itself and the witnesses,
the CCTV footage showed one of the men had the guard lie on the floor at gunpoint while the
others took the jewelry and the guard was caught off guard because the men introduced
themselves as NBI agents who were serving him a warrant but as a guard of a store that is hot in
the eyes of thieves he must know how to defend himself and how to analyze things for him to be
not a victim and to secure the things inside the store, and as for the witness his life is being in
danger at that moment because he was threatened and told that he would be killed if he will
gonna call a cops so that’s why he is being silent the whole time so his life could be save. They
became the victim the moment they didn’t analyze things in advance as for the owner he didn’t
secure the safety of his store that’s why it is prone to being robbed and as for the security guard
and the witness they became the victim just to save their life just to make sure they will not die in
that day.

According to Jonathan Smith (2003) “ The nature of personal robbery” wales, annual increases in
robberies stand out as a disturbing counter trend.Behind the headline statistics, our knowledge of
the nature of robbery, and personal robbery in particular, has been limited. This study has
aimedto address this gap, through a detailed examination of several thousand police case files.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE

Jenna Lee a mother who is a victim of domestic violence was hospitalized Saturday morning
after Hughes allegedly beat her who is her partner and the father of her children. She was beaten
and she was locked in the bathroom after she was punched many times she says that it all started
after she was talking to a male coworker on the phone about alcohol and her learning how to
bartend. Jealousy, possessiveness, and deep-seated insecurities further intensify the desire to
dominate, leading to abusive actions.
If I were to analyze this case his partner was triggered by a partner merely talking to someone
else often originates from complex emotional and psychological factors. The perpetrator might
have a distorted perception of control and authority over their partner through jealously and
possessiveness. Excessive jealousy often stems from insecurities or fears of losing a partner,
leading individuals to exert control over their partner’s actions, contacts, and behaviors so that’s
why a person can commit a crime when he tends to have the feeling of being fear to
abandonment.
So the victim became the victim of the domestic violence it is because due to jealousy often face
this situation because their partner’s feelings of possessiveness, insecurity, and fear of losing the
relationship manifest in controlling and abusive behaviors. Just talking merely at the phone and
guiding someone on how to bartend triggered him to commit a crime because the perpetrator’s
jealousy can distort their perception of the relationship, leading to unwarranted accusations,
isolation of the victim, and ultimately, physical or emotional abuse.

According to the study of “Domestic Violence Against Adult and Adolescent Females in a Rural
Area” focusing on providing holistic support that considers the psychological, emotional, and
social aspects of recovery. Research explores the role of cultural norms, societal attitudes, gender
roles, and power dynamics in perpetuating or preventing domestic violence. This study
emphasizes the need for justified female empowerment and this calls for multidisciplinary
approach to develop public health measures, which would most effectively address the problem
of domestic violence.

SNATCHING CASE
A 22-year old male made the bold move of
Taking the motorcycle keys of the men who stole his cellphone on the morning of Monday,
October 30. When his cellphone was stolen, the snatcher ran away meanwhile, he was able to
grab the key and took the snatcher’s motorcycle. Economic hardship plays a pivotal role,
compelling individuals to resort to theft as a means of survival when facing limited financial
resources or lack of opportunities. Environmental factors, including living in neighborhoods with
high crime rates or inadequate support systems, can normalize theft as a viable option.
If I were to analyze this kind of case Snatching a cellphone can be motivated by several factors
such us growing up being able to see or to experience this kind of thing from your parents or
friends or financial needs the desperation due to poverty, unemployment, or financial struggles
may drive someone to commit a crime or maybe motivated to steal a thing that they couldn’t
afford and it could be due to the high resale value of smartphones, making them attractive targets
for quick monetary gain. Some individuals might also engage in such acts due to a disregard for
others’ belongings or a lack of empathy, focusing solely on fulfilling their immediate desires.
The street, a space traversed daily, becomes a precarious ground where vulnerability lurks amidst
the hustle and bustle. Holding a phone, a symbol of connectivity and convenience, can
inadvertently attract opportunistic thieves seeking quick gains. The victim became the victim of
the crime because he is carelessly holding his phone beside the road and not knowing what will
gonna happen though he was able to recover because he took the key of the motorcycle that the
thieves rode and then run so in other words it not his lost cause what is a cellphone if you
compare it to a motorcycle.

RRL:
According to the study of “Sociological and Environmental Factor” that delves into the
psychological factors driving individuals to engage in snatch theft. There are several factors that
impact an individual’s destiny and through various studies and explanations it states that If an
individual were to grow up in an environment that fostered the pursuit of academic interests, this
intellect trait would have the ability for increased expression rather than if the individual were in
an environment that placed little value on learning.

DRUG CASE
On July 30, 2017 a Former Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog has been sentenced to life
imprisonment. Parojinog was meted with a penalty of life imprisonment and ordered to pay a
fine of P500,000 after she was found guilty of illegal possession of 677.6796 grams of shabu. So
when a person possesses a large quantity of drugs, it’s often referred to as drug trafficking or
drug distribution and there could be many several reason why she keep a large amount of drugs it
could be she intent to sell it whether in small quantities or wholesale, for financial gain or we
have the personal use where in a person or an individual might stockpile drugs for personal use
due to addiction, intending to have a consistent supply or it could be for trafficking or drug
distribution they could maybe be part of a larger drug distributor responsible for moving large
quantities of drugs between suppliers and dealers either for personal use or to distribute among
others.
So if I were to analyze this kind of case that why is a person tend to sell or to use drugs this kind
of behavior of individual s often reflects a complex interplay of motives and circumstances. For
drug users, the motives can vary widely it might be an attempt to escape from emotional pain,
cope with stress, or satisfy an addictive craving that has developed over time. Drug users often
become trapped in cycles of addiction, where the need for the substance becomes overpowering,
leading to continued use despite negative consequences which can also lead them to being prone
to addiction and dependency. Some cases, involvement in drug use or selling might be driven by
unmet needs, lack of employment opportunities, or socioeconomic disparities or maybe financial
gain might be the primary motivation.
When we talk about selling drugs maybe Vice Mayor Nova became the victim of drugs due to
financial hardships or limited opportunities might lead her to view drug selling as a means of
income, especially when traditional employment avenues are scarce or inaccessible and when it
comes to using it maybe addiction because individuals may become victims of illegal drugs due
to addiction, where the substance takes control over their lives, leading to severe health issues,
strained relationships, financial problems, and legal trouble or some individuals turn to drug use
as a way to escape from stress, trauma, or emotional pain. It could be an attempt to numb or
temporarily alleviate their troubles.

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected people’s ability to buy, sell, and obtain items
that they use in their daily lives. It may have had a particularly negative effect on the ability of
people who use illicit opioids to obtain them because the networks they relied on are illicit and
not part of the formal economy and how, disruptions related to COVID-19 of illicit opioid
markets have affected people who use illicit opioids.
