Test III: ESSAY. Analyze each question and make your answer concisely.

1. Why is good life the aim of ethics? (5pts)

- First, as we are all aware, ethics governs one's well-founded principles of right and
wrong, which define what is acceptable human behaviour. Therefore, ethics teaches
us to carefully consider our life decisions in light of these principles so that the result
of our choices will lead in a good life and greatly lower crime rates. Additionally, it
would be advantageous for us as humans if we just followed the ethical precepts and
conducted our lives accordingly. Second, debates of ethics are frequently tied to talks
of rights, obligations, justice, or virtues are usually intertwined with discussions of
ethics since they all aim to promote societal peace and harmony. Overall, ethics

primarily aspires for a decent existence for us to have mental clarity and to be
humane.

2. Why do we need to be moral?

- Maintaining morality is necessary, in my opinion, for us to have much simpler lives.

We feel more at ease knowing we didn't harm anyone when we live morally.
Contrarily, leading an immoral life causes worry, which, if it persists, will eventually
have an adverse effect on our physical and mental health. As an example, a person
who have wronged someone could experience tension and guilt because of their
actions, as opposed to someone who acts morally and does good deeds, which pays
off by bringing them peace of mind. Additionally, if everyone in the community will
abide the laws and regulations that were put in place, it would foster harmony and
peace since there would be less criminal activity. In conclusion, preserving morality is
essential if we are to have a healthy community, which will have a ripple impact on
other aspects of our life.
