PROJECT 1: MOVIE REVIEWER


Objective:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

● Use English vocabulary and phrases learnt related to a chosen topic.


● Create a visually appealing poster in PowerPoint that effectively communicates
information.
● Present their poster to the class using appropriate language and communication skills.

Description

● Students complete the project individually.


● Students are asked to choose their favorite movie – the teacher should inform students of the
topic beforehand and ask them to find out the background information of their favorite movie
before presentation day.
● The teacher provides them with specific instructions and requirements they must meet.
● The final product consists of slides and a presentation.

● Students are asked to add references at the end of their slides (link of websites)
Time
Preparation: 30 - 40 minutes
Presentation: 3-5 minutes per student

Phase 1: Instructions Students must


● Teacher gives students instructions: use Past Simple
and Present
Instructions: Perfect Tense in
“Imagine you are movie reviewer/ tiktoker. You need to introduce your favorite their presentation
movie to your audiences to convince them to watch that movie.”
● Teacher shows the requirements and explains what students have to meet
in their project:
Presentation content:
● Introduce background information (type of movie, director, main actor/
actress/ characters)
● What is the main plot?
● Explain the reason why you chose this movie as your favorite.
● Other interesting facts
Instructions:
“You have 40-60 mins to work individually to design and prepare for the
presentation. You have 3-5 minutes to present your favorite movie to the class.”
● Teacher shows the evaluation form and explains the form:
Instructions:
● “Other students will listen and give points to the presentation.”
● “After all presentations, students will vote for the most interesting
movie.”
● Teacher should inspire/ inform students about their project before project
day.
● Students should make questions to ask about their classmates’ projects.
Phase 2: Presentation
● The teacher asks students to show their slides and present their ideas to
the class.
● The teacher delivers the evaluation forms to the students and instructs
them on how to evaluate the group presentation.
● For each presentation, the teacher has a scoring rubric paper to give
scores and take notes of comments.
● After all presentations, the teacher asks students to vote for the most
interesting one.
● The teacher gives feedback to the class.
